Reached by a several miles-long dirt road that is exceptionally well-maintained, so not particularly challenging for those not used to dirt roads, even though unlit.Nonetheless, arriving for the first time in the middle of the night is a bit of an adventure.'

'Beautiful views from all the windows, quiet, private, clean and comfortable! Well worth a three day stay in October with all the leaves changing colors. Kayaks provided were so appreciated, allowing us to paddle around the whole lake and enjoy the colors and views even more. The downstairs bedroom and bathroom were ideal for my elderly mother. Great towns within easy drive, lots to explore!'

'Our stay at the West River Lodge was great! The cabin is very cozy, nicely decorated and equipped with everything we needed. We cooked dinner one of the nights we were there and all we had to bring was the food…the kitchen was fully stocked with pans, dishes and flatware…even a vegetable peeler and can opener! We would definitely recommend staying here.'
