'Very good communication with the host Arnaldo. Easy check in with codes: no keys. The house was very clean. With four bedrooms the house was quite big but very comfortable for our family. The kitchen and furniture are a bit basic, but all new- seems to be recently built or renovated. For shops and restaurants it is a 15 minute drive through the hilly countryside, which was very green and lush when we were there in the rainy season.'

'I’ll start of by saying the house is so unique and beautiful and is a perfect place to stay in La Fortuna. Having an open living space was great with a perfect view of Arenal. The property is located within walking distance of all the restaurants, sodas and grocery stores you need and a short drive to all the activities and adventures around Arenal. We were 2 families of 4 and the kids spent all their time in the pool when not out and we never felt on top of each other. Highly recommend this...

'A great place to relax and enjoy the mountains. Plenty of room to spread out with hammocks out back. Had a BBQ for the family at the pool house and the 3-year-olds really liked the small pool with the fountain. Will stay again on next trip.'

'We were immersed into the neighborhood or the local La fortuna residences and close to the town and tour activities. We stayed with our 2 daughters, 10 and 12, while there is no AC, it cools off enough in the evening to be perfectly comfortable. There is a small market near by for basics. The yard is beautifully kept and Zuelema is very communicative when gardeners came to work. There is a river near by that we got to meet some of the locals and play in the water away from the tourist areas....

'Kitchen was well stocked with new, top brand appliances and utensils. Great views of abundant trees and flowers from the kitchen and living room large windows. The backyard had multiple fruit trees including habanero and avocado trees. Yard was immaculately maintained. Separate building with washer and dryer was convenient.'

'Our stay was far too short but very memorable. Enveloped in nature, this home exudes peace and contentment. Carl, the owner, welcomed us upon our arrival. He was a constant fixture, regaling us with the stories of his amazing life and the restoration of the land surrounding his property. We opted for dinner one of the evenings; breakfasts were included. Both were plentiful and delicious! The tilapia was fresh caught and exquisite! 'We loved our stay! Staying in an authentic Costa Rican home was soo cool ! We had all of the amenities we needed for our stay. Having a pool was a plus even though we didn’t use it much. We had an awesome view of the volcano! Thank you for the memories !'

'Great value with nice ousde shared kitchen and pool. Nice clean well maintained room. Friendly helpful staff. I like getting to know other travelers with the shared kitchen. Only downside it is on a main road with lots of noisy traffic. Bring earplugs.'
