Our whole experience was positive. Booking, check-in, and check-out was simple. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. The only thing was that the shower door did not close so the floor would get wet, but a towel solved the problem. The air conditioning worked perfectly and cooled the space down quickly when we returned from a day out in the heat. The best part was the location. We were traveling with two young children so being somewhere centrally located made the stay even more incredible! There were so many dining options and shopping nearby; the area was lively but not overwhelming, and the beautiful Spanish Steps were a block away. If we have the opportunity to return to Rome, we will absolutely stay here again!
Great location, nice size for 3 people, large space. However the bathroom was moldy, it took 2 of us to move the shower door to enter shower, Arrival process took 30 minutes to access the apartment. When we opened the washer in kitchen, it was full of water and flooded the kitchen floor. And my wife was locked in the bedroom for 20 minutes when wind blew bedroom door shut and it would not OPEN. I found a screwdriver, removed door hardware and finally got her out. Response from Massimo (manager) usually took 1-2 hours, terrible reply times for all our issues. Be careful if you book it, you will likely be disappointed.
Family with 4 adults, stayed two nights. Perfect location literally steps away from the Spanish Steps, great dining and shopping. Loved this location, absolutely would stay here again. Well done!
Just steps from the Spanish Steps! Perfect location. Dining options everywhere. The apartment was clean, well equipped and perfect for 4 family/adults. The communications and check in and out process was simple and smart. We will stay again! Well done!!
The location is fantastic, just down the street from the Spanish steps. The communication with the host, Massimo was excellent. He was available via WhatsApp and very responsive. Just be aware that the apartment is very outdated, particularly the bathrooms. I mean, outdated, not cute rustic, just outdated rustic, and not functioning properly. Also, itâs basically a 3 story walk up. When you enter the front gate, you go up to flights upstairs to the first floor apartments and then another two flights of stairs to the second floor apartment. If youâre fit and able to handle those stairs with your suitcases, then no problem. I just thought it was important to make that clear.
Property is very tired and very over priced for what you get. Dripping toilet refilling all night - keeping our kids awake. Tiny unusable bathrooms. Check in uses a phone to gain access but there is no phone reception so very difficult. Having requested a cot at booking (we were not told this was a problem so assumed it would be there) there was no cot. After constant phone calls the host picked up and told us they made a mistake and now couldnât get one. We asked them to borrow or buy one - they were not interested in doing anything (it was Saturday night and obviously wanted to go out) we asked what we were supposed to do with our baby and they said âno ideaâ. Such poor service, so callous. Obviously our baby rolled out of bed and hurt his arm. We told them and they offered no discount, nothing. There are much better places with hosts who actually care about customers so we encourage you to book elsewhere!
I am extremely picky regarding accommodations. Da Place Sofia was perfect ! Clean , A/C worked well , and centrally located to everything ! Massimo is a very responsive host . I would definitely stay again !
This apartment was in a great location, literally a 2 minute walk to the Spanish Steps and close to neighborhood dining and other stores including a pharmacy. Very close to the train station too. We stayed here one night before heading to Civitavecchia by train, to catch our cruise of the Mediterranean. We had 6 adults, 3 couples in all. The pullout couch was super comfortable with a memory foam mattress. The showers were perfect with plenty of hot water. The tap water is amazingly drinkable for a big city⊠but that is Rome for you. We filled our water bottles at the fountain in front of the steps too. Great location!!
