'The hotel's hardware is perfect. We loved our room (特別室離れ庭＆露天風呂付「考槃居」), which cost HK$44,400 (US$5,612) for two nights. The room and bedding were incredibly comfortable, and standard yukatas were provided, though we were surprised by the lack of pajamas. We thoroughly enjoyed the separate bathhouse featuring an outdoor onsen and indoor hinoki bath. However, the bedroom suffered from foot traffic noise. 'This was an interesting experience. The room has no private bathroom, but there was no line for their public and private baths on the property. The room is ok, but everything is old and has a certain smell that we had to get used to. The mats to sleep on are old too. The staff was really good and caring.'

We had dinner and japanese breakfast served to us inside our room. Check out was a bit early at 10am, so that clashed a bit with our late breakfast and trying to get a last bath in while the staff wanted to clean up our breakfast set up at the same time. 'Ryokan Hakuhou allows for a very traditional japanese experience. A traditional room, neatly kept and traditionals baths. Do note that the showers are not private but open like the baths. The hotel is in the middle of the city with all conventient places no more than 5 minutes walking.'
