Our family truly enjoyed a relaxing vacation in the mountains of Virginia!
We were attending a horse show at the Virginia Equestrian Center. Normally we like to stay within 10-15 minutes of the venue, but because of graduation at VMI, we had to expand our search. This is when we found this gem of a property!
Tucked away in the mountains, our cell reception was a bit spotty but the GPS had no trouble guiding us to the location. Narrow, windy roads took us through small towns established in the 1700's and 1800's, which added to the charm of the area!
The property itself was modern construction, well built and had plenty of space for our family of 5. It was obvious it was well cared for - very clean and had everything we needed.
We played with the football and volleyball, explored the property's trails and even took out the small boat around the lake a couple times. We saw squirrels, chipmunks, birds, deer, possum, rabbits, raccoons, and of course, the horses that graze in the pasture.
We prepared breakfast every morning at the house and ate lunch and dinner in Lexington. The house had everything we needed, including fast and reliable wifi.
The owner was in contact with us before and during our stay to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.
This is a wonderful place to stay off the grid for families that want to get away from life for a little while and enjoy quality family time and nature.
