'Kleine kamer met basis faciliteiten uitgerust. Badkamer was niet goed schoon, maar dit werd na constatering snel door het personeel hersteld. Ontbijtmogelijkheid bij de accommodatie is handig. '

'This is a lovely little pub the grounds are well kept but unfortunately our bathroom was extremely damp and the smell was unbearable, we called reception and they came and sprayed in there but there was definitely an underlying issue going on as there was a big damp patch on the ceiling, there was also lots of cobwebs in the bedroom, the shower had very little power, the good points are the carpet was lovely and soft, the tv had a good signal, there was a mini fridge and tea & coffee making...

'The staff are very helpful and parking behind pub very good. . Food to a high standard. Room was very comfortable with a large shower as requested. I am unable to use a bath so requested a shower due to my lack of mobility. The room had tea and coffee facilities and towels, robes and slippers BUT the bed, although comfortable, was extremely low. Apparently all the beds are the same height according to a member of staff. It caused a real problem in the night as I had to wake my husband twice...

'A large suite with separate bedroom and bathroom, both of a very generous size. This was offered as an upgrade which was a pleasant surprise. Staff most attentive and food and service in the restaurant was excellent. Highly recommended.'

'Long wait at check in. Airco downstairs, but room hot and no airco. Check out time 11.00. But at 10.30 they said we had 10 minutes. Airco unit of downstairs next to room window…. Unbelievable. A lot of noise. Awfull service of front desk. Mostly not occupied and you have to call an outside number with your cell. Best hotel of Colchester. What a Joke. '

'Waren er een lang weekend, verbleven in een aangepaste invalidekamer, daar was alles erg laag georiënteerd op het knopje van de ventilator van de douche na, die zat bijna bij plafond. Laatste ochtend koude douche, maar werd gelukkig wel gecompenseerd met gratis ontbijt. Drukke straat, maar ook heel leuk, je zit dan wel midden in de stad. '

'Fijne uitvalsbasis aan de rand van het dorp. Grote supermarkten en fastfoodketens als buren. Je bent zo op het strand of binnen 25 minuten op de boot Harwich - Hoek van Holland. Vriendelijk behulpzaam personeel. Ruime kamers, prima bad en docuhe.'
