'We had an amazing stay at the hotel! The room was beautiful and the food there was amazing!!'

'The hotel was out in the countryside with excellent views over the moors. It was very clean and well cared for. Car parking was good. The room size, bed size, etc was great. One small problem - the room lighting was not very bright during the night time. The food was excellent and the staff were great. It was also a great place for walkers with great access to the countryside. I would recommend it.'

'We used the Hare & hounds as a stopover on our way home but will give serious consideration to returning to explore the Lakes from there'

'We just stayed four nights at this hotel. We enjoyed the location of the property—not to far from Leyburn, Hawes, or Grassington. Good location for short and long walks or hikes. You can walk to the falls from the hotel, and there are footpaths if you want to walk to all three falls. That was fun. Just a quick drive to visit Bolton Castle—worth the visit. We enjoyed the breakfasts—nice selection of pastries, cereals and fruit. And, the selection of hot items on the breakfast menu was...

'Smaakvol ingerichte kamer, badkamer oud en niet schoon. Bed kapot. Jammer, want de kamer is ruim en de mensen heel behulpzaam. Barnard castle is zeker de moeite waard.'

'I so want this place to succeed! It’s in the most picturesque village, but needs some TLC after a string of management changes. New team comes in August. The bedrooms are clean, small, very comfortable and well designed. Current staff are lovely, but they’re leaving in 2 weeks.'

'Great little place for a room over a bar. The bar closes at 9 PM so you get a very quiet sleep. Very close walk from the station.'

'VISITED THIS PROPERTY SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE YEARS BUT HAVE NEVER HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO STAY UNTIL NOW. WASNT DISSAPPOINTED EVERTHING FROM THE ROOM, BAR, FOOD INCLUDING BREAKFAST AND OF CORSE THE STAFF. THE ONLY NEGATIVES WERE LIMITED PARKING AND NO ROOM SAFE.'
