We arrived here around 2am and chose this hotel because there was very limited pet friendly availability between Kansas City and St. Louis that was under $150. When we arrived and were informed that the pet fee was $25 *per cat*, I had a little bit of sticker shock since we rarely travel with pets. We did get a free upgrade to a king suite though, which was nice. The room was small, but the bathroom and especially the shower was quite large and the entire room had hard wood floors. The room did seem updated with modern furniture, a large tv and a smart mirror, which was cool. When we came into the room, we noticed quite a few [pet] damages like scratches on the floor and complete pieces missing where the floor and the wall connected that exposed the concrete floor. We realized at this point that we were likely given a free upgrade because it was a pet room, but we didn’t mind at the time. My girlfriend also noticed the floor was a bit dirty including a cat or dog food kernel in the corner of the bathroom under the sink, but I didn’t realize notice. The experience so far I would’ve given 5 stars, but that all changed when we woke up. When we first woke up, we noticed just how dirty the floors actually were. I don’t know if all hotel floors are this dirty and it was only noticeable in this room because it was all hard wood floors, but we couldn’t take 1 step without the bottom of our feet being filthy and covered in particles.
