'We had an amazing stay at this hotel! Communication started right at the beginning. The room was Amazing with a private onsen on the balcony and the room was big enough for 3 people. Breakfast and dinner was included and I never seen a presentation like that. Staff was amazing and super friendly. Great place to stay and would do it again any time! '

'Beautiful onsen, very hiddrn and quiet. Seems like an authentic Japan experience for foreign travelers. Wonderful private hot spring baths. Choice of western or Japanese slerping arrangements. Ie. Beds or futon mats on real tatami floors. The dinner and breakfast alone are worth the stay. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Especially when navigating cultural differences. '

'Het was een geweldige onsen riokan ervaring. Op loopafstand van het yumoto station, hartelijk welkom en check in. Konden een privat onsen reserveren na het eten, wat heerlijk was. Diner en ontbijt ook heerlijk, traditioneel Japans. '

'Suiun was voor ons wel de kroon op ons verblijf in Japan. Wat een ontzettend fijn, zen en rustig hotel. Eten was formidabel, zowel ochtend als avondeten. De algemene Spa en Onsen waren fantastisch. Het personeel was uitmuntend. Mocht je ooit naar Japan gaan, boek deze Ryokan en ervaar de Japanse cultuur. Onze speciale dank gaat uit naar Suiun Manami. Wat een schat van een meid. Ze kon ook nog redelijk Engels. '

'This ryoukan is located very close to Hakone-Yumoto station, the main station to get to Hakone. Front desk could speak English and it was super easy to check in and check out. The room had a very fancy and beautiful interior. We had the personal onsen and the view was spectacular. Yukata were also provided in our rooms. The rooms were full tatami and it was amazing to use it as a tea room before dinner and then sleep on futons after dinner which they set up for us during dinner. The eating...

'As of July 2025 the private onsen are BRAND NEW, the staff told me they just redid them . Do not different than the photos online, but still extremely comfortable. This place is excellent, the staff was very friendly and the room was spacious and so quiet. Very good value'

'Had a great stay here, the staff is very friendly and patient as most communication is via google translate, and they are very good at making sure your stay is pleasant, especially for first time ryokan visitors. I’ve seen some folks say it is an older building, but that is its charm. When you are in the baths, it will all make sense. It was clean and the AC unit worked great. I am only sad that the chef was not working as I’ve seen great reviews about the food, but dinner recommendations were...

'Superior Room: lovely big space, with western style beds and traditional tatami mat lounge area that can be sectioned off by sliding panels. Aircon a little bit iffy, but mostly worked with a bit of fiddling about, supplemented by opening windows a bit. Quiet, even with windows open – just the soothing sound of the river. Lovely bathroom with twin wash basins, and private shower and lovely hot onsen bath on a private balcony. Large key locked safe in room. Comfy beds with two pillows available...

'Incredible. Setsuko-san and the rest of the staff were amazing. The ryokan is beautiful and peaceful. Meals were among the best I’ve ever had, and they were so accommodating with my picky kids. The onsen are wonderful. Seriously, we can’t wait to come back.'
