'We loved that the hotel was off the Shinkyogoku street where there was lots of shopping and dining, yet the hotel was quite beautiful and peaceful. Our room was clean and spacious and we made good use of washer/dryer to replenish for rest of our trip. Great place to stay in Kyoto!'

'Our stay at the Shijo Takakura Hotel grandreverie was great! It was the most memorable room of our trip to Japan, a great design and lots of space. The stone shower and bathtub were especially luxury. The staff was incredibly attentive. It's the one place we'd immediately go again!'

'Centraal gelegen verblijf. Vlakbij Nishi markt en de drukte van Gion. Schone kamers en comfortabel bedden. Wij hadden double beds, waardoor het bed ook groot was. Goede douches en een ruim bad. Gastvrij en vriendelijk ontvangen. Amenities wederom gratis beschikbaar bij de receptie. Elke dag kreeg je gratis handboeken, deze werden voor de deur neergelegd als je ‘niet storen’ op je deur had. 'Beautiful and spacious by Japan standards. Great service. Free laundry facilities was plus but the machines take a long time and one dryer was out of service so the night I did laundry I had to be up really late to complete ot. '
