Almost a Desert Dream
This place could be a desert dream, its got the bones: close to Joshua Tree National Park, cool desert vibes, and a quiet little trail spot just down the road. But it’s kinda like that friend who almost has it together but keeps dropping the ball. The jacuzzi tub? Broken plug. We sent a photo. No response. Ended up holding it down with our foot like a human drain stopper. The outdoor shower? Not happening - no curtain and the screen door wouldn’t budge. The master bedroom had a broken bed (literally sunken in the middle), so we had to crash in the smaller room instead. We assumed the pool would be warm, especially since there’s a photo of a woman living her best life in it at night with a projector. Spoiler alert: no projector, and the pool was ice-cold. The place was also super warm when we got there and took a while to cool off. Some windows didn’t have shades (hi, early sunrise), and there were mystery remotes for lights with zero instructions. Some worked. Some didn’t. A remote roulette situation.Communication with the host was… minimal. He read most of our messages and replied to one.All that said, the place was clean-ish (some walls could use a wipe), and the location really is great. With some TLC and actual communication, this place could be a solid five stars. Until then, it’s more of a quirky getaway with potential.
