I expected rustic cabin but I didn’t see that it did not have electrics or running water. I didn’t expect big gaps in the wall boards that allowed you to look through the walls of the cabin. « This was our first trip to Maine and we had a great time staying here at this charming cottage. The host was very responsive and all amenities were as advertised. The location is great, being nestled along the back part of the bay where we could watch the fisherman work and wake up to deer and bird songs every morning. We even got to see a baby fox and porcupine in the neighborhood. Travel to nearby Acadia and Schoodic is not far. Our top pick for places to visit would be Quoody Head State Park...

« Our family had the best time in Downeast Maine! Erika was a lovely host and was very communicative. This red farm house was the best place to slow down and enjoy all the area has to offer. We loved watching the tide come in and out each day! The house is well equipped and had everything our group of 10 adults needed for our stay. If you are coming in the summer, be sure to pack bug spray! Everything was thoughtfully put together. »

« The house is comfortable, clean, and well stocked. Vrbo has this house not far from Bar Harbor, but it is actually a bit over an hour drive. We didn't mind the drive, but you should at least be aware. The house is, however, not far from Schoodic and Winter Harbor, which also allows you to experience much of the same hikes, water sports, etc. as Bar Harbor. »

« This is a beautiful well kwpt home! It was very clean, and well equipped with everything we needed! Easy to communicate! The view of the water and Down East coastline was especially spectacular from the upstairs bedroom. The property is private and safe! We loved our stay!!! Highly recommend this property!!!!
