« Absolutely delightful hotel. Me and a friend booked a room each for the Hay Festival, and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The staff were wonderful; helpful, friendly, even showed us to our rooms. The location was great, not too far away but far enough that I’d was quiet and tranquil. The breakfast is well worth the money, as is the Old Barn pub across the road, where we ate that night. A fantastic stay, I can’t wait to return with my husband next time. »

« Nobody at the property when we arrived, had to wait 10 minutes for the housekeeping lady to arrive. She was great and very apologetic. Room was freezing on arrival. »

« It was a great location on the Esplanade. Entry was self-service check-in. The booking stated ocen views and breakfast included. The breakfast was great but we were advised that breakfast was not included as though there was a dispute with Expedia and the room had an ocean glimpse. »

« We had a fantastic stay at the butchers arms. They were very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with another hotel and Andrew and his team couldn’t do enough for us. What a lovely place to stay. Very clean place. Bed was super comfy had a fantastic nights sleep. We will definitely stay again if in the area. « We arrived to no one around and after walking around the property finally saw an envelope with our name on it and our key. Our room smelt moldy and damp. The carpet was dirty and the walls were peeling. The beds were very uncomfortable. It was shocking to see after such a high rating. The yard was unkempt and there was a general air of neglect about the whole place. »

« Placé idéalement au cœur de la ville, à moins de 10 minutes à pied du château, du millenium stadium et des lignes de bus pour découvrir le reste de la ville. Location de voitures à 5 minutes, gare à 15. Situé dans une maison de ville typiquement britannique, au calme d’un quartier résidentiel avec un patio pour les beaux jours. Sanitaires communs très propres et suffisamment nombreux, cuisine bien équipée et condiments à disposition. 5/6 »

« I had a really nice stay at this guesthouse. It is kind of old-fashioned, but not rundown. A lot of decorations reminiscent of Carmarthen's past as well as of the place itself. A place you could maybe have found the same 30 or 40 years ago and well-maintained eversince. I really loved the mood. Also, the owners are really super nice, kind and welcoming. A good traditional cooked breakfast is served in the morning. Go there if you like old-style UK and want to support independent owners. I would...
