'What a nightmare of a place. It felt unclean upon entry to the property. There are filthy steps up to the property…good thing I don’t have a mobility problem…and the paving slab on most steps rocked dangerously. On entry the property felt immediately unclean. We could hear voices in the room ad noticed that there is an unlockable door from the bedroom into an office and we could hear an interview for a member of staff in process. We returned to the pub across the road and the same helpful...

'Very close to the beach, on the other side of the main road through the village. Free parking overnight opposite the hotel, though a max stay of 45 minutes through the day. It's an old building, so the floors creak, but that wasn't a problem. The staff were great and everything was easy. Breakfast was good.'

'An unpretentious but very welcoming and pleasant stay with comfortable bed, hot showers and good storage space. The standout feature was the food: the cooked breakfast was excellent and the meals in the restaurant even better. Do try the homemade Suet Steak and Kidney pudding!!'

'Useful location. Spacious room. Allowed me early check in for which I was grateful. Bed comfy and shower excellent. Room was near entrance and on ground floor so had to keep curtain shut for privacy. Blind would have been useful. Breakfast was not great but this was an exception as chef was not available.'

'We had a lovely stay. Our room was perfect for us….lovely comfy bed and a small courtyard where we had dinner delivered! We were lucky that the weather was very warm too. Our dogs were very happy and calm and safe there . I would happily recommend this room (2) for anyone travelling with dogs. Thank you Wynnstay and staff, you made our trip really comfortable.'

Being able to walk down to the River Usk and wander for miles through the open fields was such a special experience.
