Other things to take into account
It's rare to find a house set in this area of ​​Funchal, only my place is a great option if you're looking for creature comforts in a house setting without the confines of an apartment block.
It's across the road from a popular bakery which is a plus as well as having a supermarket just up the road and a variety of cafes and restaurants 5-10 minutes walk away too. You can get all you need on foot if you want!
If on the other hand you hire a car (which I can organize for you should you wish), then there's a parking space in the open garage at the front of the house which means you don't have to park on the road and you're guaranteed a place. It's then a very short 5 minute drive into the center of Funchal if you want to take the car. If your idea is to travel around the island though, this is the perfect spot as the entrance to the highway is a short 2 minute drive up the road whether you want to go east or west.
If you prefer to bus it into the center then you're lucky as there's a bus stop literally outside the front door whose bus goes directly into Funchal, just it couldn't be more convenient.
