Refúgio no Funchal, a Home in Madeira

Refúgio no Funchal I is a renovated, air-conditioned apartment for two, in the city centre — a quiet base for discovering Funchal on foot, without renting a car, for both a holiday and remote work.

The apartment is 51 m² and consists of a bedroom with a queen-size double bed (160 × 200 cm), a private bathroom with shower, a kitchen and a living room with dining area. The balcony has a small table and two chairs.

It also includes a washing machine, a dishwasher, a refrigerator and freezer, a ceramic hob, an oven, a microwave and other kitchen utensils, as well as bed linen, towels, a heater, Wi-Fi (200 Mbps) and a TV with international channels, among other amenities for a pleasant and relaxing stay.



📍 NEIGHBOURHOOD

The apartment is near the city centre, about 10 to 15 minutes' walk from the Old Town (historic centre) and the sea.

Nearby there are cafés, restaurants, supermarkets, grocery stores, wine lodges, shops, museums, pharmacies and clinics.

A car is not necessary: there are bus stops a short walk away. By car, there is easy access to Funchal's main roads and the expressway to discover the island.



⚠️ PLEASE NOTE

There is no parking on the property. There are two public car parks 300 m from the building and, at night and at weekends, it is possible to park for free on nearby streets.

There may be traffic noise from the street in front of the building, mainly during the day and with the windows open.

Weekly maintenance cleaning, including a change of bed linen and towels.

We strongly recommend that guests purchase travel insurance covering cancellations or other unforeseen circumstances that may prevent their stay.

If you have special needs or allergies, please contact us before booking so we can confirm whether we are able to accommodate them.

Due to the island's location and climate, the presence of insects is natural, and they may be attracted by food scraps. We kindly ask that you keep surfaces clean and food properly stored.

For those sensitive to mosquito bites, we recommend using repellent when getting around the island.

An online pre-check-in form will be sent to collect the identification details required by law.

In-person check-in is by prior appointment. We will wait up to 60 minutes after the scheduled time; beyond that, it may be necessary to arrange a new time.

So that we can resolve any issue promptly, we ask that you report any faults or cleaning shortcomings immediately. Reports made after check-out may no longer be verified or resolved.
