The spacious multi-level apartment is situated in the heart of Funchal just two steps from the Cathedral and 3 minutes from the ocean. Professionally interior designed in the tradition of Portuguese-style notes, but with the amenities of a modern home, the apartment feels like the heart of the art life of the capital. The apartment, with its own street entrance, is part of the Funchalet art gallery, which is located on the ground floor in the same building. In a small special attic of the house is an artist´s workshop, where guests can enjoy the creativity of old Funchal and even draw at their leisure.
The house can comfortably receive families or friends up to 6 people. It offers a main bedroom suite with a large veranda and adjoining bathroom, a further bedroom for two people with private bathroom, and a first floor living room studio with a fully equipped kitchenette, dining area and comfortable sofa bed. The top floor workshop-lounge area has its own balcony and a view of the historic area of Funchal. All the floors are separated by a stunning spiral staircase hallway, but which could possibly create difficulties for some persons with disabilities. Similarly, we do not recommend families with small children booking with us. We allow guests with small pets.
The nearest cafeteria for breakfast or lunch, 3 meters from the house. Breakfast is 5 euros per person, dinner from 5 euros. The nearest supermarket, 100 meters. The nearest free beach, 850 meters or 10 minutes of walking speed. Paid beach of 1400 meters or 17 minute walk. The cost of 1.5 euros per person per day. Within a radius of 300 meters are a huge range of well-favored restaurants and cafes.
Just a couple of minutes from our house there is a bus stop. You can quickly reach the airport. Also in seven minutes there is a city bus station. You can organize yourself a great tour of the island, using public transport.
Our house does not have its own parking lot, but there are many possibilities to park the car next to it. After seven in the evening and until eight in the morning you can park your car for free at the municipal parking lot, it's only half a minute from our house. For a short time, after seven in the evening and until ten in the morning you can park the car right next to the house. In addition, not far, about 6 minutes walk has a city parking, where you can leave the car until the morning for 4 euros. We are happy to show you on the spot all these opportunities.
