« Had a Marvellous time - The staff make you so welcome and everything is catered for excellently- from breakfast to assisting with dinner reservations, places to see, the owner even went to get a razor and shaving cream from the local shop as I had forgotten mine, Champagne for our anniversary - I can not recommend this place enough it’s a place of tranquility and splendour. »

« Stayed here 2/19/24 through 2/21. Location and property are absolutely beautiful, but unwalkable from downtown Franschhoek, so you'll need a rental car or us their recommended taxi service via Whatsapp if you plan to drink lots of wine. Uber was not reliable in this area. The staff were very nice and the breakfast options were good, but limited. I would highly recommend this location. »

« Sad to leave but thrilled to have stayed at Akademie. However we do have unfinished business so we will be back, that is certain. Our room was just exceptional: spacious, well equipped and the staff fired up the balcony hottub based on our return time, you might think a hottub in the glorious weather we had, but yes…. To sit there for 30 minutes and just stare at the mountains and the blue sky above was magical. The breakfasts either served in the orangery of pool side were a taste bud delight....

« This facility is rated 4 star. In my estimation it is 5. We can't say enough good about the facility and staff. It is truly world class. The details are many from the robes and slippers to the fresh honey comb dripping honey at the breakfast bar. World class! Very convenient to Franschhoek but out of the crowds. »

« considering the high price we paid, I was expecting something truly exceptionnal which turned out not to be the case at all in comparison with other much cheaper guesthouses that we stayed in South Africa. No Wonder that we were almost the only guests in the place! Staff was friendly but incompetent, providing wrong information and the room was not being cleaned (there were spiders all over the place and a huge insect body stayed on the carpet for the four days of our stay). »

« Having stayed here in the past we were familiar with this beautiful property, its picturesque location and range of amenities so we chose to stay here again. Unfortunately there was no hot water when we tried to shower before bed and due to the location of the geyser (in the upstairs unit) it couldn’t be sorted until the morning. We were offered a room in the main hotel, but as it was late and we’d unpacked all our luggage so we opted to have a cold shower instead. The hotel graciously comped...

« The property is simply stunning. It’s so charming and the staff are wonderful. It’s a 20 min walk from the Main Street in Franschoek or a few pounds in an Uber. Don’t use the recommended car service from the hotel as it was 3 x more expensive than an Uber. Out toom eas lovely with a small kitchen are and separate dressing room and bathroom with both a huge bath and a separate shower. The buffet breakfast was lovely and the views even better! »
