'Beautiful location. Great staff. Jason at front desk was excellent. Has the old school "Lodge vibe". Would go back. I'm sure it will be quite colorful in autumn.'

'We had a peaceful 2 days. Staff was great. My only complaint would be the noise from the remodeling of the lodge but we knew that going in. Stayed at the woodlands, rooms were clean. Would be nice if there was a couch. Salt and pepper would also be nice in the kitchen.'

'Very nice hotel. The only problem I had was the noise level in my room. The guests in the next room watched TV and the sound penetrated into my room very clearly. I could easily hear that they were watching reruns of Friends. This was pretty annoying and I might have asked for a change of rooms, but they eventually turned off the TV and I had no further issues. My feeling was that there was insufficient insulation to deaden the sound between rooms.'

'The staff were all friendly and helpful. The three stars are primarily due to the hotel still working on sanding/painting the hallways. It was hard not to see the plaster dust, workers, supplies etc., which affects your impression. If I had to stay in the town again for a night this would be my hotel based on what I saw around. Breakfast was also pretty good to be honest.'

'We stayed at the Gateway during our Transam cycle trip. Owner was very helpful and we got a free upgrade. Not much facilities available, but that’s planned in the near future as we learned.'
