Best family vacation

Wow, what a wonderful way to begin 2025, spending time together with our large multi generational family in this beautiful house right on the Pacific Ocean. The photos and description of the house were spot on. We were mesmerized daily by the waves, adept surfers riding along the coast, the sighting of dolphins and gazing at the colorful sunsets from the hot jacuzzi. The house felt fresh, contemporary and clean, accommodating easily our family. The beds were cozy and the kitchen was well equipped to handle our cooking and stay at home dining needs. An absolute awesome experience!

Lovely home and setting, but in disrepair and terrible propery mgmt

Overall, our experience was suboptimal, but the structure and setting, amenities as described were lovely. If only the home were not in disrepair and poorly managed by Beachfront Only Vacation Rentals. Read Yelp reviews of this company! The home and location are wonderful. Access to the beach, pool/hot tub, outdoor decks & spaces lovely. The home design & furnishings are very light and bright. Amenities provided appreciated - beach towels, boogie boards, beach chairs etc. Kitchen was very well stocked and home had 3! working fridges. BUT, home needs a lot of TLC & the property mgmt company was terrible. At arrival, the pool & hot tub were dirty & we found many: ripped & missing screens, non working windows, dirty curtains with rods that fell off, furniture that was broken, many lights not working, non working TV remotes, electric awnings that were shredded and unusable, no home manual to help, discarded medication bottle on the roof Just, A LOT. The process for getting assistance is to text, but requests not always acted upon etc. I finally called about pool and was told "we don't service pools". Um, what? if you rent homes with pools and hot tubs, they must be serviced. They finally cleaned them a couple of times, but I doubt they checked chemicals etc. Asked repeatedly for new lounge chairs., 1 arrived fairly promptly, but it was like pulling teeth to get more and they never removed the shredded one as requested. I asked to speak with a manager, was told they would call. Spoiler: they didn't. Then it got worse. Lower level shower and toilet backed up and overflowed into home. WE cleaned it up, attempted basic repairs to address. Did not work. Called 24 hour emergency number - no response! I texted & finally heard from a person the next day. A plumber came out and turned off all of the water for much off the day, advising he could not repair and not to use any water, even overnight (no showers, sinks toilet use), but another team would arrive next day. They did not, but 2nd plumber arrived to prep, again turning off water, etc. BFORentals advised we needed to vacate, offered us another property, far away, not beachfront (irony). We found other closer accommodations. 3rd plumber confirmed repairs required extensive work, we could not return. Then, they withheld reimbursement! Eventually (2 weeks later), agreeing to refund ONLY the nights we could not stay, nothing for the days without plumbing (illegal?) or terrible service. CAN NOT recommend.

The view alone was worth the stay. House was clean. Beds were comfortable. 30 minutes away from downtown. They quickly answered all my questions before and during the stay. Having the pool and hot tub was an amazing bonus. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Wonderful

Amazing beach house, lots of space. We had a really relaxing time and loved the pool, hot tub and beach access. Loved walking down to the beach with the stairs. Very nice that the house had all we needed in regards to utensils, plates, etc. Gorgeous peaceful views. I can’t wait to come back.

If you are okay with the front gate not letting you in while checking in, not having clean sheets and not having access to the hot tub, then you will be ok with this rental. The beach and the house were nice.

Amazing property on the beach. Having a pool and spa to enjoy hearing the waves was amazing. Dolphins paid a visit. Everything was clean...secure, most of all fun!

Great Family Trip

The views, the views, the views!!! This house had the most amazing views from the moment you stepped inside. It was a great space to host a family with amenities such as the pool, fire pit, and beach access. We will definitely return to this space for another family trip. My only negative feedback is that we called for maintenance service- 3 times within the same day and were assured the request would be handled but it wasn't. I had to call back the next day to finally have someone service one of the bathrooms.

30th Birthday Staycation

Chose this place for a staycation to celebrate my 30th birthday with my family. The house matches exactly with the description & pictures listed. The furniture was maintained very well & the house was very clean upon arrival. They provided 2 remote controls to open the garage & front gate but only 1 of them worked. There is no AC unit but they do have a heating unit, fans, & space heaters. The bathrooms were clean & the showers all had dispensers full of shampoo, conditioner, & body wash. The master bedroom toilet has a weak flush so keep that in mind to prevent any clogging. Bring extra toilet paper! If you’re in a big group, I would space out showering times. We had a couple of instances where we ran out of hot water, but it came back after waiting a bit. The rooms were all clean & neat. The master bedroom closet light didn’t work, but we managed with the light from the bathroom. Bath & beach towels were provided for each guest. There are detergent pods for the washer/dryer if you want to do laundry. The kitchen was spacious & had more than enough kitchenware & cookware to use. The indoor grill is a very unique addition to the house. We used it & fell in love with how convenient it was on a cold night. There were plenty of trash bags & detergent for the dish washer. I would definitely bring paper towels, but they do have some kitchen towels to use. The lighting fixture over the dining table wasn’t very bright, but it gave a nice ambiance. There is a Roku stick so you can watch all of your streaming services. The pool & spa are heated, however we had issues with the spa. It was cold & rainy during our stay & it would’ve been nice to enjoy it. Management was very quick to respond via text for all of the issues we had & sent maintenance over every day. The spa would get hot, decrease during the day, & end up cold at night. There are about 96 steps down to the beach. Great exercise! You will see a lot of people walking on the beach during low tide. Keep in mind anyone can walk up the steps to the house so be cautious. It was very convenient to have a small shower at the top of the steps to rinse off all the sand. The next door houses were unoccupied & being renovated during our stay. We weren’t bothered by any of the construction sounds either. Overall, great house to relax & unwind in. Very rare to find a well maintained house with a pool, spa, & private steps to the beach. I highly recommend this place & will definitely be coming back!

Spring Break 2021

We spent our Spring Break at this property and it was a great experience. The description of this property is very accurate. Great location, very clean and all amenities were working. The property management was very easy to communicate with and was on top of anything we needed. The only complaint would be that the pool/spa heater was not working very well and didn't heat the pool, and barely heated the spa but it was in the low 60's the whole time so it was no big deal. I would recommend this property for sure!

5 days in the sun

What a perfect spot! It was just my wife, our little girl and myself... which was terrific! We barely left the house and spent the whole week in the water and in the sun. It’s a big place and perfect for hide and seek... our daughter loved that. If you want to relax on the edge of the world for a few days this is the place. No doubt about it!

The area and house are perfect. The view is amazing. The problem is no one told us both neighbors are under complete renovation. We where woken up every morning at the crack of dawn with loud hammering and saws. You couldn’t even sit outside due to the loud noise. We paid a lot of money to not be able to enjoy the pool and view from patio. Also hot tub doesn’t work. It’s basically just a heated sitting area no jets. I reached out to the property manager and the only thing they asked was what property are you at. No I’m sorry about the noise or anything. I don’t think they could care less. Terrible customer service and a waisted vacation.

Girls' getaway

We enjoyed the house because of the view and the swimming pool. Altho, there were a few problems. We couldn't get the jets in the jacuzzi to come on. We couldn't find the control box to turn on the gas in the fire pit to light it up. We couldn't use the fireplace, either. The key to turn the gas on seemed to be the wrong one. The manual giving instructions for the jacuzzi, fire pit and fireplace weren't that helpful. Also, the housecleaning crew could do a better job of cleaning out the crumbs from the sofa and loveseat.

Near Perfect Beach House

I'm sure other reviews will explain in detail how beautiful and great this property is. I agree with all those and back it up by saying I will definitely stay at it again. Quick Positives Summary: Nice house, a tad run down, but very comfortable, and what you'd hope for in a beach house. Nice enough to be comfortable, not so perfect you're afraid to move. Great VERY big screen TV with Netflix, Hulu, etc. which is nice at nighttime cuz area nighttime activities are small town typical. It says it sleeps 12, but it comfortably sleeps 10 (including 2 people on each of 1 King and 2 Queens, + 4 twin/single beds). Views are staggeringly beautiful both in and outside the house. One downside for some people is that while you have a private staircase to the beach, it's 115 steps down, though it's the up part that would not be advisable for certain younger, older or out of shape people. We just found it great exercise! Stuff Owners Can and Should Fix.!!! (before we come back please!) 1. SCREEN DOORS: There are 4 sliding screen doors that fall off their tracks virtually every time you use one. There are some beach flies at night so we really love the fresh sea air but what a pain to fix them every time (and it's not that easy to fix each time so they were often left just leaning against the opening and flies did get in). I'm a DIY homeowner and this is not that big a fix and would really add to the enjoyment and cleanliness of the property. 2. Heated Pool and Spa--this was a bit ridiculous. Not mentioned until you saw the full bill did you see a $200 per night charge for heating the pool and spa. A huge markup of the actual cost to be sure. But that's fine if it worked. When we first got there for a 3 day stay the pool and spa was cold. But the bad part is there's NO SWITCH TO TURN THEM ON. Instead you have to call maintenance each time you want the pool or spa heated. And, of course, even if you can get thru, which after 8pm was impossible, it is then a many hours wait till the pool would be heated. Same procedure for the spa heater or the spa jets. If there were not a $200/night water heating charge this would be frustrating, but with such a charge and such related service, Owners risk significantly alienating some renters. Guys, either make it free or give us the controls. Add a couple more chaise lounges or comfortable outside furniture. 4 seats is not enough for 5 bedroom house.

Encinitas beach house

The house was amazing-can’t beat ocean views! We talked about renting again. Couple of things could be improved: 1- too few towels. We had about one towel per person so not everyone had a bath towel and beach towel. 2- no tool to open locked doors. the bedrooms on the third floor locked when opened onto door stops. With windows open doors sometimes closed and we’re unintentionally locked. There should be a tool above the door frames 3- no mirror in one of upstairs bedrooms 4- hot tub needs a thermostat. Not sure it’s legal as-is. It gets very hot very quickly but also gets cool quickly when heater is turned off. Had to keep turning off and on manually Also-The pool maintenance person came while we were at the beach, and the chemicals were so strong people’s eyes were burning. Skin smelled even after shower. Before that pool was great. 5- the Viking range needs deeper cleaning I think. When you turn on a burner they all spark for several minutes. Looked up on internet and it suggests cleaning gas jets with a wire tool, so we just put up with the clicking. Overall a great experience and we would do it again
