Casa Mambo-Private Villa with dipping pool and veranda

  • Casa Mambo is een nieuwe en uniek ontworpen villa in mediterrane / Maya-stijl. Het ligt in het exclusieve veilige en rustige Corpus Christi-gebied, op slechts 10 minuten lopen van het turquoise water en de witte zandstranden van de Riviera Maya. Het is slechts een korte drie blokken naar enkele van de beste restaurants en winkels, en een wandeling van 20 minuten aan zee naar de veerbootpier en het bruisende hoofdplein met zijn vele belastingvrije winkels en attracties.

    De villa is ingericht in gedurfde heldere tropische kleuren met handgemaakte Talavera-tegels en mozaïekontwerpen. De meubels zijn unieke stukken grillig geschilderd door lokale eilandkunstenaars. Het Mambo House heeft een natuurlijke kalkstenen waterval die in het ondiepe pierenbad stroomt en vervolgens in het hoofdzwembad stroomt, alles omgeven door een weelderige tropische tuin.

    Alle kamers hebben een veranda en kijken uit op de zwembaden en de tuin. Het pand is geweldig voor grote of kleine bijeenkomsten voor volwassenen, en perfect voor gezinnen met kinderen met zijn volledig omheinde tuin.

    Casa Mambo is ons eigen vakantiehuis dat we zelf hebben gebouwd. Het is geen flat met gedeelde faciliteiten. Het wordt privé beheerd en we maken alle afspraken rechtstreeks met u.

    We maken geen gebruik van agentschappen en houden daarom onze tarieven veel lager dan de markt. Dit maakt Casa Mambo een van de weinige villa's op het eiland die elke week van het jaar vol is, dus maak uw reserveringen zo vroeg mogelijk om de beschikbaarheid te verzekeren.

The property is past its prime, but it feels like it was a luxury home many years ago. There are quirky things about the hot water, which is not surprising in a Mexican house. They kept the pool clean. It feels like you are moonlighting in the house of some long passed gentry. The location is great. There were no pests or bedbugs. Overall I'd say it was a pleasant stay priced accordingly.

Nice and interesting setup!

Has a great common area with separate rooms off the courtyard. The pool was nice sized for an evening dip with a relaxing waterfall!

House manager, Astrid, was very personable, professional and quick to respond to questions. We felt safe while in the house and in the neighborhood. It is a very quiet location and close to a lot of amenities. Pool was very refreshing.

Beautiful property, needs a lot of TLC

This is a beautiful property, with lots of potential, however, the overall cleanliness of the property was poor. The other complaint we had was that this property is on a very busy street, so there was always traffic noise from dusk till dawn. Pictures on the VRBO website are not even close to the what the property actually looks like.

Winter get away

Host gave us the keys explained things about the house, that’s when I knew we might of made a mistake but I’m optimistic. Water heaters one for the kitchen and bath #1 one for bath #2 directions turn on the hot water heater when we need it and wait 10 minutes after use shut off electric is expensive. Things looked run down but we are going to enjoy Cozumel as we always do. After a closer look the house was very unclean all around grungy cooking utensils, cabinets counter top all needed to be washed. Ants all over the place. First trip to the Mega get ant and roach killer we were able to keep the ants a bay in the kitchen area. O ya the hot water in bathroom #2 you we were only able to get a trickle on the hot water side so 10 min. wait for water heater another 10 wait for it to get to the Fausset. Shower in bathroom #2 hot water never reached shower head. The doors would hang up dragging on the floor, to swollen to close with out jamming them shut. The big tub in the pictures is unique only problem no hot water, The trickle to it would take 2 hours to fill and would be cold. The swimming pool lacked maintenance, missing tile, black soil spots on the bottom of the pool not sure what they were. Second day while sitting in the courtyard, iguana climes along wall next to pool and “poops” yes down it lands on the pool edge.Looked like a regular thing. Suffice to say the pool did not get used for swimming. AC in the main part of home did not work. I Would not book again.

Cozumel's Calling

Our stay was fabulous! Pool was wonderful! Very private, safe and comfortable. Host was very responsive and friendly. We shared the house with friends and had more than enough space. To be perfectly honest the master bed was very hard and master shower hot water was iffy. Not enough hit water to actually use the tub for an adult. Common issues in international rentals. But all in all it was very nice and we would rent there sgsin in a mi ute!

Excellent place for families

My husband and I spent a wonderful week in Cozumel with our two adult daughters, 4 year old grandson and 16 month old granddaughter. Casa Mambo was a perfect choice of where to stay. It was very comfortable with plenty of room for all of us to be together and also be able to retreat to our separate bedrooms when we wanted. The children loved the wading pool even after all day at the beaches of Cozumel. Being close to town turned out well for us as we ate in some wonderful restaurants close to where we were staying. I loved the unique furnishings and twice weekly cleaning service was a bonus. I would certainly stay again at Casa Mambo.

Property needs a total gut and remodel

Manager not there when we arrived. Had to call to get in house. Whole house was dirty and musty. Wifes spent first day cleaning entire kitchen snd appliances. Kitchen is TERRIBLE. No hot water second day, no water at all 4th day. Property manager responded promptly to get repaired. Said house was vacanttfor a long time. We Bought new coffee maker and fry pan, , manager brought new dvd player and toaster to replace unworking. Manager very responsive and appologetic. House was infected with pigeons! Holes in screens where rodents had eaten thru. House should not be rented until it is totally reconditioned. Pool is has lots of rust on bottom and old pool pumps and old pool filter and trash litter the property. Would not have stayed if we had anyplace else to go!,

Nice, modest house needing some TLC

I would have to say the exact same things that Jason C. said in his review from Feb. 2016. The house has a great floorplan, and could use some TLC/updating (e.g. fresh coat of paint in the kitchen/living room, master bath and on the exterior; new caulk/grout around kitchen sink). The pool and waterfall feature are beautiful. Astrid, the house manager, and Rosa, the housekeeper, were wonderful. Rosa came twice during our stay to clean and a gentleman came to clean the pool daily. Walking distance (10-15 minutes) to Dolphinaris, two supermarkets (Chedraui and Mega), and downtown with an abundance of shops and restaurants.

Very unhappy with this place

This place was extremely dirty, we were not informed ahead of time that we would need to provide all cooking utensils along with all towels and bedding. They had some linens but were very gross. The area was safe and there were nice restaurants close by.

Very nice perfect for large groups

My family came from all over to spend Christmas together and having a home rather than separate hotel rooms made it so much more special. The home was wonderful. The hot water was a bit challenging but otherwise everything was wonderful

Perfect little getaway!

I am a single mother who travelled with my 3 daughters, 24, 19 & 16 years old. We stayed at Casa Mambo for a week & we had a great vacation! The location is perfect to walk anywhere in the city & we always felt safe even at night! We did have a rental car that got us to the beautiful beaches on the other side of the island! The house manager Astrid was wonderful & the pool was perfect! I would definitely come back!

For the price reasonable

This is not a bad deal for a family needing 3 bedrooms. Some basic repairs of doors that stick, lights and fans that do not work, and broken windows that allow mosquitos in would help a lot. The beds were very firm. We were spending $500 a day on diving and did not want to spend too much on accomodations. The pool and inner courtyard is the most charming aspect of this older villa. There is a regular housekeeper and pool maintenance worker and the maintenance staff did respond quickly to imediate repair needs (broken door and light). The neighborhood is safe and although we could hear neighbors partying from outside the house, we could not hear them once inside. A friendly iguana prowls the roof.

Nice but needs work

I recently stayed at Casa Mambo and found it a little lacking. The home has the potential to be great but is in a little disrepair. Astrid was wonderful and showed us the house and gave us information about the island. The street the house is on is out of the main tourist area but is fairly loud. The beds... well aren't beds as most westerners think of beds, they are just the box spring mattress support with a foam pad. It being fairly cool on the island the pool was ice cold but beautiful. The house is located in a great area and is easy to get to. If the house got a little TLC it has the potential to be a perfect getaway!

Casa Mambo

Casa Mambo was a great place to stay while visiting Cozumel. It's only a 10 minute walk to the supermarket and coast as well as numerous restaurants. The home itself has a lot of character and the pool provides a nice cool down at the end of the day. It comfortably accommodated the 4 of us but could easily take a group double the size. The property manager, Astrid, was available to answer any questions regarding all that the island has to offer. I'd highly recommend visiting her restaurant for some incredible pozole if you're there on a Sunday.

Rest and relaxation

What a wonderful vacation home! I spent much of my time relaxing by the pool, reading. I took a dip every morning. It was quite hot and there's nothing like cooling off before heading out to do some shopping on the ocean front! Casa Mambo is located in a very quiet neighborhood away from the tourists by the ferry. It's a wonderful place to enjoy the simplicity if island life yet not too far from the action of the Carribean. Andresita is very helpful and knowledgable. I don't think my vacation would have gone so smoothly without her help.

Beautiful house

Such a relaxing place to stay! we dipped in the pool daily and the area is very safe. Many restaurants not too far from the house. I really enjoyed this much needed vacation away from everything. Highly recommend Casa Mambo. Andresita is a delight to do business with!

~Casa Mambo~ Nice island living!

We all had a great time while visiting the island. 4 adults and one teenager. We really liked the layout of the casa, the kitchen and living room were completely separate and screened off from the bedrooms so some could visit while others could sleep. a great set up for familys or up to 3 couples. Fred and Andresita were wonderful to work with. I had a terrible time with the postal service delivering my money order but fred was very patient and reassuring that everything would be fine. (he was right) the casa was in a nice location right down the street from a place that serves great phillipino food with a slight mexican flare. there was also a little store at the end of the street if you were wanting a cervesa and dont feel like going to the store. A maid came by faithfully every day to tidy up the place. she was very sweet. Taxi cabs drive by frequently so if you dont feel like walking you can get one easily. My absolute favorite restaurant was chilangos on 30th for a small price you get an awesome authentic meal. my next favorite was casa mission also on 30th All & All we had a great stay. Enjoyed staying at casa mambo. would recomend it to families or couples. The gardens are very pretty around the front of the casa as well as around the swimming pool. Casa Mambo is cool

Casa mambo is a very nice place to be with a family. My three year old daughter loved the pool. Fred the owner is easy to work with as is the manager who was nice and met us at the airport. The house is clean and well taken care of and near groceries and restaurants. it is really nice to just hang out there with the people you are with. It is a big place so people can take naps and be alone too. The artwork and tile in the house is really nice and shows someone took their time in design and decoration. I will definitely go back again to the Mambo to escape our cold Minnesota winters.

Mambo Fun and Sun

We rented Casa Mambo and it was a very fun experience. My three year old daughter loved the pool because it has shallow and deep pools. it is well furnished and has good internet. There is a Ched Raui (sort of like walmart) about three blocks away where you can get everything you need. There is also restaurants that are close that are very good. It is a great place to go with a group of people who dive etc or just a family. The courtyard is more lush than the pictures suggest and the house is a great place to just hangout. I would definitely go here again and invite my family too.
