'Avani is a lovely new hotel close to the beach & cafes. The issue is when you are there over the weekend, which was our case. On the Saturday we thought it would be nice to go for a swim & have a quiet drink in the restaurant on the top level. When we arrived we couldn't even get a seat. It wasnt until we checked out that we were told that the restaurant was operated by a different company & they had booked other parties in on the weekend. 'I was travelling with my elderly mum who isn't very steady on her feet. On the path to our room (370), we had to cross a short footbridge that had broken boards on it and was very unsteady. It had 4 warning bollards on the completely broken boards and holes but the whole bridge should have been blocked with a detour sign to tell us an alternate route - but we didn't know that there was another way to our room so we crossed it very carefully each time. 'The room was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was sufficient. The evening meal was nice and the chef was fast. The only thing wrong was a very noisy exhaust fan in the bathroom but we were there on a weekend so probably no maintenance available. The did offer to change our room.'
