Before arriving we were called and told that they had to move our room to the carriage house due to a septic issue with the main manor. The carriage house is a smaller building on the property. 'Such a lovely stay and overall experience — definitely one I’d repeat. If you’re visiting in winter, there are a few things to keep in mind: make sure to read all the information they provide. If you plan to use the jacuzzi, start heating it as soon as you arrive so you can really enjoy it; same with the sauna. 'This was, I think, the creepiest place I've ever stayed. I do have to mention that the woman at the front desk was absolutely lovely--but she was the only good part of my stay. There were a couple of the tiny roaches in my shower both times I showered (I had to stay two nights). My door looked like it had been mangled in a knife fight. The hallway looked, no joke, very much like the hallway in The Shining. I felt safe enough, like physically, once I had locked the doors-- but it felt very dirty...

Our family room was very nice and clean and easy to get to with parking right by the room. Our only negative experience was out of the property control with the neighboring room being extremely loud getting in at 1 a.m. We are still giving 5 stars because the property was nice, away from the hustle, but still convenient to everything.
