'We ended up not staying the night. There was no on site staff. The room was cold, you couldn’t adjust the temperature. The bathroom door didn’t close. The water was ice cold, even after running for 10 or so minutes, as the contact person told us to do. We booked the room with the hot tub, which wasn’t usable, so they put us in a room with a jacuzzi tub, not the same thing. 'This was, I think, the creepiest place I've ever stayed. I do have to mention that the woman at the front desk was absolutely lovely--but she was the only good part of my stay. There were a couple of the tiny roaches in my shower both times I showered (I had to stay two nights). My door looked like it had been mangled in a knife fight. The hallway looked, no joke, very much like the hallway in The Shining. I felt safe enough, like physically, once I had locked the doors-- but it felt very dirty...

'The reviews of this place are incredibly polarizing. Some people think it is the worst place they have ever seen. Others think of it as a twee little time capsule, an example of the pocono mountains in their former glory. The truth is a bit in between, though it is, in cat the worst place I have ever stayed. (And I am a sucker for cheap motels) You can see evidence of its former glory. It seems kinda clean, but it is very run down. Whoever runs this place has done a number of shoddy repairs....

'What I do like: Easy check-in, stuff is friendly, the place is clean and well-maintained. What I don’t like: Very bad soundproofing in the room, loud squeaks from the room above you when a person just walks there. Pretty damn restriction my 14-year-old boy faced when he was trying to take a breakfast alone: he can’t have a breakfast without a guardian until he is 18! Seriously? He can’t do it in McDonald or anywhere else, but not here.'
