Woonboten in Block Island National Wildlife Refuge

'Really enjoyed the stay but had two comments. 1) the kitchen exhaust fan ran right outside our window from mid morning until about 10 pm every night. Had to run music pretty loud to drown it out. Could hear the water lapping on the beach when it was not running. Would not have minded if they were creating incredible food but unfortunately 2) the one lunch we ate on site was just ok. Seems like the oil they were using for the fries was old. You know that bad taste I am talking about.'

'Hotel only opened a year ago and having a nice new room on block island is rare. Loved the place. Great location and wonderful amenities such as roof top deck and trendy restaurant/ bar. The check in process is different but seamless as no lobby.'

'THE INN AT OLD HARBOR IS LOCATED NOT FAR FROM WHERE THE FERRY BRINGS PEOPLE TO BLOCK ISLAND, IT IS A OLD HOTEL WITH NO AMENITIES OR AIR CONDITIONING. THE STAFF ACCOMODATED ALL REQUESTS AND WERE VERY HELPFUL,'

'Everything was clean and nice and the staff very friendly.'

'The Inn is so close to the ferry and everything else. The breakfast and happy hour were plentiful. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Location was perfect.'

'Very peaceful and pretty property. Lots of flowers in planters. 2 or 3 large fire pits.'

'The property needs work furnature needs updating. A ventilation system needs to be installed to circulate air.'

'We have been going to Shelter Harbor Inn for decades. After its most recent renovations, the Inn is absolutely beautiful. The design of the inn is lovely. The grounds are stunning. And very importantly, the staff is excellent. There was some confusion re our check in and both the young woman who checked us in (Laci V) and the young woman who checked us out (Laci M) handled the situation perfectly. Sadly, we were only there for one night most recently but we will return.'

'The employees, views were great. But: There was a green plastic floss pick the stood out on the dark carpet on the stairway. It was on the center of the step. Outside stairway going to the top level on Friday afternoon. Sunday afternoon it was still there. Maybe the floss pickup employee was on vacation during the weekend and the other employees had the “it’s no my job” attitude. I was tempted to pick it up but wanted to see how long it would sit there.'
