'Extraordinary place all around'

'This was really just a regular hotel room in an old fashioned building. The breakfast was what you would expect in a hotel - nothing special. The carpets are a bit old and had that old hotel smell. The rooms were not very sound proof. It would be fine if your main reason was to be in Half Moon Bay, and you aren’t looking for a particularly special or pampered experience.'

'The breakfast came in a cute cooler basket. Every breakfast was delicious and varied. They responded quickly to special requests. The room was beautiful with a large soaking bathtub. I didn’t use it as much as I would have in a place that had water abundance, but that was my choice. The location was ideal and I can’t recommend Mendocino enough. So beautiful!'

'From the moment we arrived til we left we were taken care of… It started with upgrading our room to twin Queen beds (no up charge) then helping us navigate activities and recommendations. We enjoyed both dinner with a view of the River and sunset and the complimentary breakfast with amazing fresh baked muffins, fresh bread, hard boiled eggs, etc Coffee was lovely, fresh and plentiful We had a delay with our pick up and were told no rush to check out. 'Charmant hotel in Santa Monica. Zeer lekker ontbijt en aangename service. Op wandelafstand van het strand. Gratis parking voor de deur. Auto noodzakelijk om overal te geraken maar dit geldt voor geheel LA. Gratis kaas en wijn van 17 tot 18u : nog nooit meegemaakt !'

'What we thought was a room upgrade (corner room with spectacular beach views) during daylight hours turned into a nightmare for sleeping as the constant noise from the partiers and motorcycles/low riders late into the night - even on a Wednesday- made for one of the worst night’s sleep ever. Not sure why they didn’t give us the room we reserved since each one is different and we got a double instead of a king'

First, the front desk staff—especially one receptionist (Connal) —had a noticeable attitude and was not helpful at all.
