Stay for York

Lovely property out of the way, had everything we needed, and nice welcoming brownies, milk, bread and butter. Quiet, peaceful.location with short drive to small.supermarket. York drive 30 mins away, and also on way there is a park and ride, tonsave on parking in York.

Wonderful holiday home with an outstanding host

We had a fantastic time in Sues converted barn. Sue had arranged a perfect welcome with brownies and a starter package with toast, jam and marmelade, milk and butter. The barn is equipped with all that is needed, and the location provides calm and relaxation. Sue is very supportive and friendly and is always available for recommendations. This was our first holiday in Yorkshire, and thanks to the cosy barn, Sue, and the vĂšry friendly people in Yorkshire, we will gladly come back. Our whole family, including both of our dogs, definitely and fully recommend this holiday home, thanjs for a great time, Sue!

Great cottage

A fabulous little cottage with everything by you’d need. Sue, the owner, left cupcakes and essentials which was very lovely and thoughtful. Everything was clean and well presented. The children didn’t want to leave!!

Weekend stay

Just as wonderful as last visit

This is our second time staying with Sue. We have now stayed at both cottages and both are equally lovely. Very clean and tidy and a feeling of home away from home. Very easy to book and check in. Sue is a top notch host who is very friendly and willing to help us with any questions we had. Overall, our second stay was as delightful as our first stay 5 years ago. Thank you!

Fox Cottage

Lovely weekend staying in Fox Cottage. Sue was fantastic and everything in the cottage was clean and beautifully presented. The freshly baked brownies on arrival were a lovely touch too. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent 2 night stay

Lovely, clean cottage which was convenient for day trips to York and Scarborough. Sue provided essentials such as milk, butter, bread as well as yummy brownies, an unexpected treat! Kitchen had everything we could need. We had plenty of room for our family of five and easy access to nearby towns for groceries and restaurants. Would definitely stay again!

Lovely stay at Fox cottage - highly recommended!

Stayed at Fox Cottage for 2 nights with my partner and her immediate family for her 30th birthday. Sue was the perfect host before and on arrival. She kindly put our celebration banners up ready for our arrival and arranged the home baked cookies along with our welcome basket, which were delicious! The cottage was lovely, spacious and immaculately clean with all the appliances, crockery etc needed for a home from home stay. The availability of the DVD player, wii and games trunk outside in the court yard area were perfect additions that kept the children happy and occupied during our stay. Overall excellent accommodation that made the perfect family break away, all family members would love to stay again! Thanks Sue x

A lovely stay in Yorkshire

We had a lovely time. The cottage was perfect with all the home comforts. On arrival there was a lovely little hamper to get us going including some beautiful cupcakes. It was very comfortable and perfect with great outdoor space, including a some sports equipment including swing ball that our kids loved. The local town of Pocklington was lovely with everything in it along with a lovely market on a Wednesday, and you can walk there along the canal though it is quite a walk. It was also close to York yet the coast wasn't far off either.

Lovely little cottage close to York

Lovely little dog friendly cottage "Home from home" 20 mins drive from York. Had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Welcome hamper and everyday essentials very much appreciated. Nearby Pocklington lovely village. Ordered cookies prior to departure.. thankyou Sue and Kayley...delicious. Would definately return.

A comfortable stay

This is a very well equipped and comfortable property. It is within easy access of York and Hull. Sue made us feel very welcome. We would recommend this cottage as a base for visiting the area.

Fantastic week in the country

Great week (Mon-Fri) at the farm. Fox cottage had everything we needed. Very clean and Covid safe, enclosed garden with furniture. We ate outside all week, nearby forest great for a dog walk or explore, not too far from sea and moors, and York city on the doorstep. We all really enjoyed our time in Yorkshire and would love to return to owl cottage with our friends in the future. Thanks

Top quality rural stay

Very cute barn conversion , everything you could need in a place. Kitchen well stocked with pans, Crockery, utensil, foil etc. Also had tea, coffee, herbs etc. Lovely touches with the bread, crisps and homemade buns. Would be great if there was a loo upstairs and the bed was so hard for me but I guess that’s personal taste. Easy to follow directions and simple to get into York. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent cottage in a perfect location

We enjoyed a weekend stay at Sue's property, ideal location close to sporting activities at Allerthorpe. The cottage was perfect, clean, spacious and Sue even left homemade buns, bread, milk, butter, ham etc. The cottage had everything you would need for a weekend away. The kids especially liked the games.

Very good overall.

If you remember this is on a working farm then you will find it excellent. My one slight problem was that I found the double bed quite hard and did not sleep particularly well other. I can definitely recommend the option of a home cooked meal on arrival. It was delicious.

Fantastic

Spotless, well equipped cottage. Welcome pack which included home made cakes was a welcome surprise. Ideally located for exploring the surrounding area. Definitely would recommend, could not find fault with anything. We will be booking for next year
