'Very nice welcome by our host and we started immediately with wine tasting with cheese and bruschettas. Although we were the only guests she offered to make dinner for us. But we went into the centre of Montepulciano (walking distance) and found a few open restaurants. Beautiful centre with a few shops open despite the winter period closures. Execellent wines in Montepulciano! '

'Wat een fantastische plek is Relais Val d’Orcia! Het huisje waarin we verbleven stond als enige op een heuvel, bereikbaar via een afgesloten hek. Dat gaf meteen een gevoel van rust en veiligheid, zonder dat het afgezonderd of afgesloten aanvoelde – je bent immers midden in het prachtige Val d’Orcia.
