'Our stay was absolutely perfect. The host communicated very quickly (though no issues to report). The unit had everything you could possibly need down to dog bowls and earplugs (though it was not noisy at all). The fenced in area was perfect to enjoy coffee and let our dog off leash. The walkability was fantastic - close to wonderful restaurants and coffee shops (be sure to try Slims and get curry or ahi tuna bowl). 'We arrived to the upper carriage house, where a nasty nauseous rotten meat smell filled the room. This was quite unexpected and unsettling. We could not use the refrigerator, as it smelled of rotten meat. We asked for a refund and were denied. We were not offered a partial refund. We were offered a complimentary night stay. The Hawthorne area is quaint and loaded with dining and shopping options; while streets are busy it is quite walkable, and not far from gorgeous areas like Mt. Tabor Park.
