'A great old hotel in the countryside. Spacious room and very clean refurbished bathroom. Nice and clean. Restaurant was value for money, and the breakfast was very good. The inhouse pub made evenings comfortable,and had free wifi. Due to lack of aircon room temperature was a bit hot (30 degrees Celsius) and fans provided could not cope with it. 'My partner and me stayed during the first horrible heatwave in June, to get some respite in the AC that was featured in the amenities of the property. Not only was there AC in the room, but also in the pub/restaurant area! It was absolutely delightful - we struggled leaving! The staff were so friendly and attentive; nothing was too much trouble. We were given a flask of fresh milk to have with tea/coffee in the room, and some freshly baked cookies. I couldn’t get the shower to cool down, this...

'Peeling wallpaper by window, panel by bathroom door coming away, loose loo seat, poorly maintained bathroom with window not shutting fully. Shower splutters and temperature varies. Pub food poor and not made as described. Would not go back.'

'This is the second time I have stayed due to the convenient location for work. I’ve had the warmest arrival on both occasions. The room was lovely. The bed extremely comfy. And the little touches such as fresh milk and brownies are a bonus treat. Exceptional.'
