lovely house and property. well stocked kitchen. lots of games. dock was perfect and well equiped. for boats, going under the bridge was extremely narrow. holly point no longer rents boats but close to house with ice cream, bait and gas. wi-fi worked well. quiet spot with good fishing.

Celebrated New Years on Great Creek!

We might be biased because this property is right down the street from our lakehouse, but it was the perfect place to house several friends who wanted to join us for New Years weekend. The house layout and spacious bedrooms with new furniture was wonderful. They even managed to play some ping pong in the entertainment space in the garage. Wanda & Gordon were gracious and attentive VRBO hosts!

Amazing Stay

The house was wonderful. Spotlessly clean and everything was as described. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. The yard, dock and lake access were all perfect and the location was great, just inside a cove with quick access via water to the main lake. The owners were very easy to get in touch with and they made the check in and stay a breeze. Highly recommend!

The house and overall property were once again well maintained and spotlessly clean. The recurring ant problem grew worse during the stay but luckily they were tiny and stayed mainly at the sink and backsplash areas. One issue we had was that the grill appeared not to have been cleaned in some time. We lit it to grill steaks and the entire grilling area engulfed in flames. My husband closed it and shut off the gas and grill, but the next day we looked at the inside of the grill and large amounts of grease and grizzle had accumulated in the creases of the bottom of the grill. This could have been serious so we suggest it gets cleaned out before your next guests arrive.

Property is exactly as shown on website and the previous reviews were accurate. House was extremely clean and kitchen is very well stocked. The owners were very attentive and quick to respond. We contacted them with a small maintenance issue and they were there promptly to address the issue. Would definitely stay here again.

Relaxing week on the lake

We had the best week on Lake Gaston! I had previously come to Lake Gaston and enjoyed it so much that I wanted to come back to enjoy it with family. My parents, husband and our kids stayed for the week and it was perfect. The house was exactly as listed - so clean and the check in process was simple so we were able to enjoy the lake immediately after unpacking. The weather was gorgeous the entire week and the combination of kayaks and swimming off the dock entertained the kids for hours! We had previously considered doing a day trip during the week but nobody wanted to leave because we were having the best time. The owners were great and SO responsive. Before we got there I asked if they knew where we could get fishing poles and within a half hour they had called several stores and told us where we could get them when we arrived. They wrote several messages upon arrival to make sure we got in okay and check to see if we needed anything. Fabulous hosts! Thank you again for a perfect week! It couldn’t have been any better!

Never been so relaxed!

We've been to Gaston every summer for years and this was by far the best house/location. Everything was clean and comfy, kitchen is super stocked with all needs for cooking, the lake was full of crappie and catfish, and since it's off the main lake the wake was very low - good for swimming. We made Smores in the fire pit and watched sunsets in kayaks. The backyard and back patio space was luxurious. Games provided and space galore! Thank you!

Better than the photos!

We enjoyed our stay in Bracey. The house was better than represented by the photos. It was very well supplied. Most rentals list fully stocked kitchen in terms of pots, pans, etc… but this was the best we’ve experienced. Plenty of silverware. Everything you would need to cook or bake plus very well organized. The owners really thought of everything. It was a lovely location and beautiful property. The only challenge was a tight entry under the bridge for our Tigge boat to the main lake. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend!

Above and beyond

Our family of four had an amazing stay at Summers Dream. The home and property were exceptionally clean and well maintained. The kitchen was very well stocked and nicely organized which made meal preparation easy and seamless. The dock with boat house was one of our favorite places to relax and play; it had ample life jackets, a very fun floating island, kayaks, and comfortable chairs. We also greatly enjoyed time together playing games in the sun room, watching TV on the comfortable couches, and playing ping pong in the surprisingly homey garage. Beyond all of these aspects, we felt the owners had gone above and beyond with their thoughtful touches... labeled light switches, corner protectors on the edges of the ping pong table, USB charging ports on nightstands, and clear instructions for how to use various items in the home such as the TV, floating island, stove, etc. Thank you, Gordon and Wanda, for a great lake vacation!

Beautiful and relaxing Lake Gaston escape!!

We really enjoyed our stay at this very clean and beautifully maintained home that comes with everything you need for a fun week at the lake!! The beds were very comfy and my husband and I and our 3 teen and young adult kids loved watching our favorite shows together on the super comfy reclining sofas! We loved the flat lakefront yard and the one level living inside the house. The owners were very responsive and helpful. We loved the floating lounge chairs and the beautiful views from the dock. We rented a pontoon from Poplar Pointe Marina! Highly recommend!! There is a tight culvert you must pass through to access the main lake which was challenging for us as new boaters but we got the hang of it and the kids helped guide the boat through. We hope to return to this lovely vacation home!

We felt very comfortable during our stay at the lake house and the amenities were very good! Two suggestions to consider would be adding a refrigerator in the garage and putting a few more chairs and maybe a table on the boat dock! Worth Every Penny

We had one of our best family vacations ever and, given the ages of our children, we've had many. The home was perfect and absolutely spotless and the setting was more than we expected. The dock and backyard were just as spotless as the house. The garage was enjoyed for late-night ping pong matches. The floats, life vests, etc. were also clean, inflated and ready for use. We would definitely come back next year.

A rental that checks all of the boxes

A beautiful home with wonderful lake views from the house and a small flat yard (hard to find with lake front) to play all of the provided outdoor games. The kitchen was well-stocked, the house had lots of space, and the outdoor area was great! We enjoyed the swim mat that was provided, along with the kayaks/life jackets, and the fire pit area where we also hung hammocks. It was nice to be able to go swimming right off the dock. Good location that is convenient to get to. We enjoyed our week and the only thing I wish I had done was look into renting a boat before we arrived, as the nearby marina (with huge ice cream cones) was sold out for our week. Owners were easy to work with and responded quickly. Highly recommend this lake house for a relaxing vacation and fun for all ages.

All you need for lake fun.

The communication was top notch, clean, up to date, comfortable, dock was awesome, toys great, not to hilly. We had a wonderful stay. Golf was 1.5 miles down rd. Winery. You can tell owners take great pride in it. The only negative was the fact you had to bring your own towels, dish rags, sink soap, TP, paper towels, trash bags, Owners are new to VRBO, these are very cheap simple fixes. Honestly would not stop me from renting again, but at the price point you shouldn’t need to bring things like that. This was a great vacation!!!!
