'We were picked up by the hotel shuttle bus from the train station. On arrival at the hotel, we were welcomed by a lot of staff and got a welcome drink in the lounge with a stunning view over the city. 'If you want to experience traditional ryokan with fabulous meals, this is the place for you. It is a bit dated like visiting your relative’s house in the small town. It’s surrounded by maple forest, like living in a nice cabin. This is not modern hotel, if you set your expectation right, you will not be disappointed. All the stuffs are so kind and warm. They are great people dedicated to their jobs and it makes me want to visit Kyoto again.'
