'My recent stay at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Virginia was okay, but there were a few areas that could use improvement. The staff was polite, but the overall service felt inconsistent, and some interactions didn’t meet the level of attentiveness I expected. Nothing was terrible, but the experience didn’t quite match the standard I’m used to from this brand. With a bit more focus on cleanliness of the room, communication and guest support, this location could really shine.'

'Booked and paid for a double room 5 weeks in advance. At check-in, after waiting for staff to check multiple rooms it was discovered there were no double rooms available. I was then told I would be given a single with a roll away cot….but after more waiting, we found out there were no cots available. The desk person finally called the manager, who said the best they could do for me was 50% off of a second room. What a deal! 50% off of a room I should not have to pay for in the first place....

'Room was very clean! Beds and linens were great. Grounds were not taken care of. We stayed there because of the pictures of the tennis courts, shuffle board and putting green. None of that is operational or there any more for at least 10+ years. Great location where you can walk to Kings dominion. But trash everywhere outside and run down. Dog poop, dirty diapers, broken glass and trash.'

'First room we got smelled like someone had just smoked a pack of cigarettes in it and had to ask for another one. Next room was not clean, there were things on the floor that clearly indicated it had not been cleaned very well. The walls had missing plaster and different scuffs/divets in them. The back door of the building was propped open for anyone to get in, no key card required. There were men outside of the hotel by the exit drinking beers until very late at night, I was nervous to walk...

'Perhaps this is a more general hotel thing cutting corners and not including stuff that used to be standard but there is basically no housekeeping. They change towels (no fresh linens, no cleaning) every other day. Literally we got new towels and a roll of toilet paper. Supposedly if you stay a week they clean the room. I’m sure it saves them a ton of money but the savings sure don’t seem to be passed on to the customer. We could have used the floor vacuumed but not gonna happen!

'I’m actually going to an attorney. This property manager violated all kind of laws. My main complaint was the elevator was broken for EIGHT days. When checked into hotel requires ALL persons show ID if staying. They made a COPY of my Drivers License and his DISABLE MILITARY VETERAN IDENTIFICATION.
