'Wonderful stay here, Friday 21st June, 2024. Cosy room, with all the facilities we required. Our room overlooked the river and outside drinking/dining area. This can be noisy, but it’s happy noise, adding to the atmosphere. We stayed one night as we were seeing a band at The Picturedrome, couldn’t be better placed for that. Great central place to stay for any other reason, too. The food we had was gold star stuff in our opinion, we had a dirty burger with sides a plaice with samphire,...

'Plenty and easy parking. When I entered the bar, I was confronted with Theakstone's on draught, real ale, which is one of my all time favourites (only temporarily available) so I knew that my stay was going to be excellent. Nice food, very friendly staff and nice breakfast. It was my first stay, but hopefully not my last. My routing when travelling in the UK varies, but I hope I can include the Forest Lodge in my future travel plans. It would be worth driving a bit extra to arrive here. '

'Gezellige pub/hotel met vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Toen we erg vroeg weg moesten stond beneden een ontbijtje voor onderweg klaar. Je kunt er ook lekker eten. Het zat iedere avond vol met locale maar als gast heb je gegarandeerd een tafel. '

'The whole town is very compressed and tight for space. Part of the charm. The rooms at the Nook may not suit some people in terms of access as there are stairs to some of the rooms. Also quite noisy as very near a couple of pubs but if you accept this as part of the surroundings then its great. Room was good, bar and restaurant down stairs with excellent service in the evening and at breakfast. Would go again. '

'Simple/affordable rooms above a traditional English country pub, in a lovely village location. Staff were very welcoming, rooms were comfortable and parking was easy. '

'Everything was as expected in cleanliness and comfort. The milk for making a drink with in the room was conatined in a fridge on the landing. At least it was fresh milk.'

'The location is wonderful, close to Chatsworth and some beautiful walking country, the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly, accommodating and flexible when we asked for things. The perfect place to stay.'
