Being very familiar with Princeville and the sometimes crowded bustle of Hanalei (especially during Easter) I was pleasantly surprised by what a peaceful time I had renting the tree top suite. Tucked among million(s) dollar houses in the Princeville greenbelt it was safe and clean and new and very quiet - yet the nearby forrest path down to the Hanalei river with a thigh-high wade across to the beach/pier and town (coffee) every morning quickly became my morning routine. HBR and One are a hike through the woods, and Foodland and the Kauai shuttle are a reasonable walk up Hanalei Plantation Rd.. While part of a larger property with resident owners, they were hardly visible and very hands-off during my entire stay. A perfect affordable piece of a very high-end area, great for a couple and even better for a single person. It was just what I needed. Finding something in this location that is not part of a resort is a rare find. Next time I probably won't even rent a car, but travel light and Uber and public trans my way around instead.
