'It was -12 on Portage Lake and we cranked the heat pump up to 75. The Birds Nest cabin needs another heat source. Upstairs was cold when we got back at 10:30 pm after leaving the heat on all day in the cabin.The two full size beds that are pictured is one that’s on the bottom of a metal bunk bed frame and the other is upstairs where the roof is pitched so one side has no head room to accommodate two grown adults.New owners shut the water off for the winter. Didn’t know that until the day we left...

'A beautiful cottage set in a wooded camp on Portage Lake. We kayaked and canoed. Very rustic, but super comfortable. Washer/dryer was a bonus! Hiked up Hedgehog Mountain, drove on to Fort Kent. Grilled some fish and relaxed on the wonderful covered patio. '

'This was a last minute reservation after looking at -20s for overnight temps, ice camping wasnt going to happen. Very welcoming, great check in process, very easy. Great communication, asked and were allowed to park for the remainder of the day so we could continue fishing. Water is turned off for winter in this unit, but water is available in a water cooler and the bathouse was close and super clean!! Will definately consider again!!'
