'The $150 hold on your card was absurd. The staff was great but I’ve stayed at much higher end hotels that didn’t hold that much.'

'I have regularly stayed at Hampton Inns and those have been good overall, so will chalk this one to a one off. We had someone enter our room without authorization the first night we were there. Explanation from the manager, Brian, was that the room was not supposed to be given to a guest and that front desk "forgot" and put us in the room. The rationale given was that the room was deep cleaned and saved for someone with feather allergies, though it was clear that the all the bedding in the room...

'We knew the hotel was packed, and having read the reviews (after having already paid the unrefundable rate) I was a little concerned that we might get stuck in a bad room. I asked my wife to check the room first in case we wanted to switch, which the desk clerk was happy to help her do, but she was told that it wouldn't matter much as we were getting the last available (and it makes sense as it was on the top floor at the very end of the hall). 'Our stay at the Davis Motel was great!!! It’s definitely got an old school vibe and reminded us of traveling as kids, haha. The welcome gift was much appreciated, and the laundromat onsite was a plus. The owner, Bill, was very helpful in recommending places to see in the area. And the coffee was probably the best we have had on our trip!'
