« This is a lovely and well equipped cottage though was a little chilly the night with a heavy frost (until we located the heater!) It was also a bit confusing to locate, as it is up several driveways, past other houses, but we got there without too much trouble! »

« Even though there was a man there when we arrived, he only confirmed where to find the lock box to get our key. The rooms were very small and the equipment was only adequate. The second day there was no hot water. I read the directions in the book and found the gas bottles to switch them over. The location is very rural, pretty but a long way to stores and restaurants. The driveway is quite narrow. »

« Friendly staff, nice room in general. Getting to the facility was difficult due to recent traffic changes. Despite instructions, I got lost almost every time returning to the room. Bed matress was very well worn, body indents present on each side, probably time for a refresh. Pillows were flat. Large roach in the shower and bug bites while in the room, hopefully just mosquitos. »

« Our group felt so cozy and homey at Fantail cottage while we explored nearby Hamilton and Hobbiton. Fiona was an excellent host and made sure we had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully equipped and the provided milk, coffee, hot chocolate, and cereals was a nice touch. Everyones favorite part is that the shower was hot with really good water pressure! We also really enjoyed the chickens (chooks) and they seemed to like our food scraps just as much. Thank you for a lovely stay :) »

« This cabin is in a beautiful location at the top of a hill. It’s best to give yourself a little time to get up the winding roads, especially if there’s fog. When we arrived, we were met by our host who is very friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome and enjoyed our conversation with him. He is a big LOTR fan so we had a fun time talking about filming locations and personal stories he had. « I was so impressed with the Kozy Kottage, it was perfect and homely. There was food in the cupboards, fridge and freezer, all there for you to use, including eggs, milk, bread, condiments and all you need for cooking, oil, salt pepper etc and fruit in the fruit bowl, the beds were comfortable and the shower had amazing pressure. « This is such a unique and beautiful cottage. The cottage is spacious, charming, and beautifully presented. All the extras the host provided (soft drinks, milk, coffee, bread, etc.) were a lovely touch and made the experience even more special. The nature walking trails and outdoor bath were highlights of our stay. The rustic, vintage vibe creates a wonderful atmosphere, and the fireplace adds a romantic touch. « The air conditioner was broken and there was no heating from the second day and it was cold. The battery of the electronic key ran out and I couldn't put it in for about 2 hours. I contacted the owner in a hurry, but it was a pity that he prioritised his errands and did not respond immediately. ( It may be normal in New Zealand, but it was very uneasy for people who came from abroad for the first time) »
