'We arrived at the castle about 2350 after having rental car problems at the airport. The castle was very cold and the instructions to turn the heat on did not work. Someone came the next day to turn the heat on. My sofa bed was not made up even though we were clearly 3 people and needed three beds. The mattresses were very lumpy and the linens smelled stale because they were in a chest. 'We had a wonderful week in Castagnola. The apartment and place around it is very dog friendly (we loved the dog paintings!) and has a great atmosphere. The castle is beautiful. To get the most out of it, it is absolutely recommended to take the guided tour, the wine tasting and a meal from Gianna.'
