'Great stay at this gastro-pub with rooms. Room was modern, quiet, comfortable and clean. Had lunch and breakfast at the pub and both were GREAT. Staff were really helpful and pleasant, Paula in particular. Free parking and bus stops to Wrexham and Llangollen 50yds from hotel so very convenient for either. One note of caution if you pack heavily - I don’t think there’s an elevator. All in all a terrific stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. '

'Location is amazing, and the staff was nice, if you like to sleep in outdated places ... you'll love this. No fridge, no air conditioning, you hear/feel everyone move on your floor and the one above, I was even told to keep the bathroom door closed especially when taking a shower (and after) or there might be a problem with the humidity, my trash wasn't removed from the room, etc. Plus, on the picture there was a nice tv screen size in the room, when I arrived ... lets just say my laptop screen...

'One night stay to attend concert in Liverpool. Check in was smooth, staff member showed me to room and showed fire exits etc, he was very polite. Room was ideal for what we needed. Clean and comfortable. Bathroom was clean and modern, shower prowerful, towels and toiletries provided. Free parking on site to the back of the pub. The area was quiet with minimum passing traffic. We didn’t drink or eat in the pub but it looked nice enough. '

'That was exceptional inn We have been traveling around the Uk but that was the best inn we have been to The food is great, breakfast is very rich and the hospitality is fantastic There are several walks around the inn and there are easy to walk '

'The Oaklands is a nice hotel with a great bar and beer garden. It is relatively close to the centre, you can walk. The room is nothing special but everything works. Easy to park.'

'Meerdere keren in dit hotel verbleven , goed eten, echter minstens 6 haren in bed, maar 1 stel handdoeken , en geen vloermat. Na doorgeven kregen we een andere kamer. Die bleek niet schoongemaakt. Volgende kamer, was schoon en goed. Kan gebeuren, maar het personeel geeft je het gevoe alsof het je eigen schuld is. Dat kan niet. Volgende ochtend weer een chagrijnige dame bij het ontbijt. Luisterde nkeg, en geeft je geen welkom gevoel. Uiteindelijk bij de manager aangegeven , hij zei tussen neus en...

'In de buurt voor business. Een leuk hotel met erg goed ontbijt en vriendelijk en gastvrij personeel. Een leuk hotel om tijdens wandelvakantie te verblijven. Voor zaken iets minder geschikt door gebrek aan internet. Kamers schoon, echt Brits met een goed bed. Ook twee keer in de avond gegeten, smaakte goed en alles vers gemaakt.'

'Lovely nights stay at the Red lion whilst visiting Oulton park, we were looked after from the minute we arrived until we left, Evening meal was lovely, as was the breakfast. We will definitely be returning.'

'One night stay along with our 15yr old son. All 3 of us stayed in the same room which was very spacious, set out lovely and very clean. We were impressed with the decor and fealt comfortable right from first entering. Yes it could do with a bit of an update but nothing to worry about at all. The management and staff couldn’t be more helpful during our stay right from checking in to having a bite to eat and a few drinks in the bar. Need to say, the meal we had was professionally cooked and...

'Checked in to the premises for an overnight stay. We were met by a tall young woman who was very welcoming and friendly and I was invited to complete details into a machine, then asked to pay the cost of the accommodation there and then. I explained that I had already done so with Hotels.com.Our room was situated over the bar area. The room was an adequate clean twin bedded space. Two large towels had been provided (not bath sized) that carried the odour of being dried inside and my partner...

'Everything was as expected.a little basic but warm and cosy and the cleanliness was first class. An enjoyable stay .we were pickIng a kitten up so it was a great stopover. Very friendly staff. '
