'This was a quaint and affordable stay in a great location. We were in Kansas City for a college visit. The location was close to UMKC and also shopping and restaurants. We stayed in the carriage house, top floor. It was spacious and deliciously air conditioned. Will definitely stay here again when in KC.'

'Great location and this is my favorite Kansas City hotel but i didn’t get a shower cap because a hospitality kit was not provided. There wasn’t a coffee machine or kettle provided, though I asked twice at the reception. No mugs either. And room service was skipped for almost 2 days until I asked. We ran out of soap and toilet paper.'

'We checked in around 6:00 pm went to room unpacked and went to leave and the door did not lock. Attempted to contact the front desk but the phone wasn’t working something about internet down but we had wifi? Went down to front desk she asked if we wanted to change rooms so we packed up and moved to another room that was not as “nice” as the first one. I use that word loosely. 'This is a one-time grand hotel that has aged not-that-well. The outer facade is in desperate need of a makeover, or at least a paint job.. The hotel seems understaffed (I had to leave a message with room service) and the restaurant workers tried their best but seemed overwhelmed by the volume (and it wasn't even nearly at capacity). The location is unbeatable but it would behoove them to do a serious rehab….'

'The first room did not appear to be completly clean and was not in great shape as the floor was damaged, the deadbolt was stuck open so the door wouldn't shut, and it needed a fresh coat of paint etc. I alerted the staff and was immediately moved to a room on the second level that was the same room but in much better shape. This process was relatively painless, and the rest of the stay was very positive. The hotel is in a good location and close to a lot of bars and restaurants, all walkable. I...

'The back patio was nice, had a seating area. The building was kind of updated (fresh paint) but overall needed some improvements. There was an odor in the hallway. No seating in the room other than the bed. It was difficult to find parking at night. The staff was great, no complaints there.'
