Noisy and lack of maintenance
There was a lot of noise in the night, dogs barking from the appartement below. Multiple locks didnt work ( frontdoor and bathroom door. No towels to dry the dishes.

Apartament with a great view
Nice apartament located on a hill (amazing views from the balcony but steep climb from the city center if walking), conveniently located (close to downtown Funchal and the highway). The host was very helpful, flexible and easy to reach. The only thing I would improve is the cleanliness. Don't get me wrong, in general the apartment was clean but certain places (like balcony or shower shelf) seem to be forgotten. If booking please bear in mind that there are barking dogs next door, but I didn't hear them at night.

Nice stay
The place is up a hill, and there are some noises, but all in all it was very nice to stay there. Two stages and balconies. Seperatet rooms. Nice ambience and a great view over Funchal. The kitchen has everything you need (the oven could be places better, but it worked for cooking).

Couldn't be better
This apartment is in an ideal location to enjoy all the splendor that Madeira has to offer. Just a few minutes walk from the center of Funchal. We hired a motorbike and parking outside was not a problem. Kitchen was very well equipped, so easy to prepare all the delicious fresh produce from the market and enjoy from the balcony overlooking the port.

Good neighborhood.
Good location, it is up a hill, but thats all Madeira. We drove and found it easy. Nice local cafe a few houses up. If you exit the front and go straight around the building in front there is a small grocery store. Cafes safari. Have a steak sandwich.

Nice for a short stay
It’s really nice and cozy. But you have to be aware that it’s up the hill, so you will need a car, the bus or good fitness to get to the apartment. The owners son ,Joao is really nice and always reachable via WhatsApp. He was giving us advice one day to stay home because of heavy rain, that was so nice! One star less with the cleaning, because I think the floor needs to be cleaned wet before a check in. My socks really got dark from it. Therefor I didn’t like to walk there barefoot. TV didn’t work, which was ok, because it only was one day we had to stay in, but I think this should be fixed. Also the WiFi didn’t work properly. Online Videos where always stopped, so I had to turn off WiFi to see them. My friends connection was always interrupted. So most of the time it wasn’t useful to use the WiFi.

Overall, we were very happy
Overall we loved the our stay. A quick walk to the harbor with an amazing view, and easy to drive to and park. It was exactly what we were looking for. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. Make sure to read other reviews as there were a few little things that others have commented on that may have affected our experience had we not been prepared. With an extra roll of TP, some salt and pepper, and maybe another pillow and blanket we would stay here again.

Très bel hébergement et localisation parfaite pour explorer Funchal. À noter toutefois que le s voisins ont des chiens et qu'ils peuvent être bruyants de jour et de nuit.

Schöne Wohnung mit einigen Mängeln
Die Kommunikation mit dem Sohn der Vermieterin war gut und wir bekamen stets eine schnelle Antwort sowie einige Restauranttipps. Leider können wir nicht bestätigen, dass die Wohnung ruhig ist. Die Straße ist eine Zubringerstraße in die Altstadt und sehr befahren - bis spät in die Nacht und auch am frühen Morgen. Leider gab es auf der Dachterrasse keine Stühle, sodass wir über die Treppe Esstischstühle tragen mussten, um den Blick auf Funchal zu genießen. Während unserer 2 Tag ging das Gas nicht (was wir allerdings zu spät gemeldet hatten, um Abhilfe zu schaffen). Zu bemerken wäre auch, dass das Doppelbett nur 140cm breit ist. Die Wohnung ist kein Neubau.

Good place for visiting Madeira!
The flat is nice and spacious, located in a very convenient spot on Madeira for getting around the island by car. Aldina's son, João, was extremely kind to us and also recommended good restaurants. The only downside was that the flat was rather minimally equipped. Toiletries and toilet paper would be very useful on the arrival.

Fantastischer Ausblick von der Dachterrasse
Wir hatten unseren Haupt-Ferienwohnung auf Porto Santo und sind mit der Fähre für einen Tag (2 Übernachtungen) von Porto Santo nach Madeira gekommen. Unser Vermieter war sehr behilflich und war über Whatsapp sehr gut erreichbar. Er hat uns z. B. gute Restaurants genannt. Die Wohnung bietet alles, was man für einen schönen Aufenthalt auf Madeira benötigt und ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Besonders hat uns die Dachterrasse gefallen, die dazu einlädt, abends, mit Blick auf die Altstadt und den Hafen, ein Glas Wein zu trinken.

Great space and location, but…
Good location within walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. Note for accessibility: it’s a very steep walk up and down the hill to the place (the host warned us about this, which was appreciated). However, the elevation provides a beautiful view of Funchal from the balcony! A few more things to note: There was no soap to do dishes or laundry (even though there is a laundry machine, so we were unable to use these amenities despite planning our packing around this). We let the host’s son, who we were communicating with, know and he apologized for forgetting, but didn’t offer to bring us any. One night, after having left dishes in the sink for the day while we were out, we came back to quite a few bugs around. Some harder to deal with than others. Since we couldn’t do the dishes, we left them (and all food) in the fridge to avoid attracting more bugs during our stay. There was a small dog (chihuahua) downstairs and a few big dogs next door that would bark at all hours and often in the middle of the night for extended periods of time. We had read this on previous reviews, but didn’t think it would bother us. We had our sleep impacted by this, even during the nights we could close the doors (cool enough). Take this into consideration if you are considering this spot. Very basic kitchen for cooking - no oil, condiments, etc. Overall, we enjoyed the location and the amenities, and our general rating reflects this.

Putting the fun in Funchal
We thoroughly loved our experience in Madeira. Our host, João was so helpful with his communication and recommendations prior to our arrival. He was very kind, and although we arrived early, we were able to drop off our bags and he personally showed us the most wonderful café: Cafe Fortaleza (don't miss it, Ricardo is amazing!) The location is very well located (800 m elevation from the waterfront), and so you definitely get lots of steps in! Take a Bolt directly to the door if you are carrying lots of things! Inside, the apartment was clean and exactly as the photos show with two lovely decks, a great view of the city and lots of space. Although it is stocked with towels + dishes, pack your own soap as that isn't included. João continued to provide helpful tips and was very responsive. We would highly recommend staying here.

Logement proche toutes commodités, superbe vue. Petit bémol pour les chiens des voisins qui aboient au moindre bruit. Un grand merci au fils de Aldina pour son accueil et sa disponibilité. Une cafetière et une passoire seraient les bienvenues ainsi que des produits ménagers.

Awesome place and great location
Cannot really ask for anything more in a rental property. Great location that is very central to Funchal, amazing balcony with views, nice kitchen and bathroom. The owner is very easy to reach and more than willing to help out with anything. Great price as well.

Great spot
It was really handy for town, and the view from the rooftop terrace was amazing. The house itself was lovely. I think the kitchen could have been better equipped and the fridge not right in front of oven door, the bedding in the second room could do with an upgrade, but overall it was great value for money.

Functional for us. Few comments: Some of the wooden terrace chairs were broken. The bed sheets and pillowcases smelt as if they had been stored for a long time. Musty/damp. The shower needed very precise temperature selection to get warm water from. Quite a few yapping/barking dogs. But on the plus side lovely views from upstairs terrace especially at night. Communication with the owner was very good and to be fair we didn’t mention any of the above as we were only there for 2 nights so we didn’t think it was worth it. Location was fine for us. We downloaded the “Bolt” app (equivalent of Uber) and used them one night to get home which worked very well. We can recommend “Just Go Tours” for an amazing, 8hr, partly off road Landrover tour of the island. Madeira is a very beautiful, special island. Let’s hope it stays that way.

Seamless stay in Funchal with excellent view!
From start to finish, this rental went so smoothly. Adeline was very accommodating and flexible with check-in and check-out times. We arrived to the property at 10am and were met onsite. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and the place was very clean. No issues with the wifi. There was always parking available and it seemed like a more local part of town, which I appreciated, but still walkable to most attractions in Funchal. Plenty of towels and clean sheets available. Wonderful stay! Would definitely stay again, thank you Adeline!!!

Tolle Lage, schöne Wohnung, grandioser Ausblick auf den Hafen
Wir haben genau das erhalten, was wir gebucht und erwartet haben. An der Wohnung gibt es nichts zu beanstanden. Allerdings war der Kontakt mit der Vermieterin nicht immer problemlos. Ein Tag vor Anreise wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass die Wohnung doppelt vermietet wurde, was dann aber doch nicht so war (denn wir kamen pünktlich in das Domizil). Als an einem Tag das Gas leer war, dauerte es leider 2 Tage, bis dies aufgefüllt war (kalt duschen im Sommer geht, aber kochen ohne Gas eben nicht). Dafür hatten wir aber u.a. bezahlt. Am letzten Tag gab es unglücklicherweise einen Rohrbruch (dafür kann die Vermieterin nichts, aber weitere 1,5 Tage konnten wir gar nicht mehr duschen oder zur Toilette). Wir hätten uns zumindest ein Ausgleichsangebot gewünscht oder eine Variante wo wir hätten duschen können. Zu erwähnen ist definitiv auch, dass eine Schule in der Nähe ist und am Morgen viele Autos an der Wohnung vorbeifahren. Leider ist ein Gullydeckel auf der Straße lose und es ist unglaublich laut wenn dort ständig ein Auto drüber fährt. Auf der Nachbarskind macht fast de ganze Nacht auf sich aufmerksam. Wir mögen Hunde, aber es könnte auch stören.

Eine schöne Ferienwohnung für sportliche Urlauber ,von der City Funchal bergauf haben wir ca. 15 min. gebraucht. Der 15er Bus hält vor der Tür. Im Haus sollten einige Kleinigkeiten gemacht werden, wie zum Beispiel, die Duschtür repariert werden, ein Paar mehr Haken im Bad und das Holzbett für die dritte Person müsste getauscht werden. Es knarrt bei jeder Bewegung, so das man wach wird.

WIR haben 2 wunderbare Wochen dieses Haus genossen. Auf 2 Ebenen bietet es reichlich Platz und hat dazu einen Balkon und eine Loggia, von der ganz Funchal einem zu Füßen liegt!

Vi kom efter en period av kyla och dåligt väder på Madeira,så det var rejält kallt i lgh.
Lgh.ligger högt upp med fantastisk utsikt.Tänka på är att man ska inte ha några fysiska problem då det är en krävande promenad vart man än ska.Vi uppskattade läget,men då var det inte så varmt när vi var där heller.Köket var väl utrustat.Tips dock,tändstickor,värmeljus,salt och peppar.Inget sådant fanns när vi kom sent på kvällen.Det finns genuina små Caféer och barer i krokarna med gott kaffe.Vi hade en trevlig semester.

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour dans cette maison bien ensoleillée et assez bien située pour visiter Funchal qui est une ville très intéressante. Si vous n'êtes pas aguerris aux démarrages en côtes très pentues mieux vaux prendre un taxi (pour le prix d'un parking souterrain au centre ville)

a perfect stay even in january
It was amazing to stay and have breakfast on the terrace with the marvelous view to Funchal... The apartment is large, the entrance-stairs are very steep, the kitchen and 2 sleeping-rooms at the first floor got enough space for everything, one of the sleeping rooms got more a single-bed (for young people/children it´s OK). Perhabs the "tall germans" should be beware about the sloping roof in the living room upstairs but we didn´t have had any really problems... the comunication with Aldina and Joao had been nearly perfect (but we had been introduced of Joao and I think it will be a great advantage to speak portuguese with him)... We personally got any information we needed and stayed for a perfect week in January and hopefully will come back sometimes... The way down to the citycenter needs 10min, back to the house you will need more time because the street is really rising the hill directly. You will find without any problem a parking place around the corner for a (rented) car. The street "Caminho de Achada" is during the week a little bit noisy but the traffic is not too heavy so you can sleep or sit on the balcony or the terrace without being really disturbed. The two chairs on the balcony could be refurbished sometimes (we put some towels on it) but despite this the interior was perfect. Schöne Wohnung mit tollem Blick über Funchal
Die Wohnung ist genau wie beschrieben, der Blick über Funchal ist großartig, die Küche ist gut ausgestattet und die Wohnung macht einen sauberen und gepflegten Eindruck! Die Wohnung liegt zentral, der Fußweg in die Alt-Stadt dauert nur 10 Minuten, zurück sind es 20 Minuten (es geht steil bergauf). Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind in der Nähe vorhanden oder man fährt mit dem Auto zu einem Supermarkt in der Gegend. Einziger Nachteil ist die Straße die in die Altstadt führt, diese ist ab 7:30 Uhr stark befahren. Da es sich um eine Stadtwohnung handelt ziehe ich keinen Stern ab. Wer die Nähe zur Altstadt sucht und nicht lärmempfindlich ist für den ist diese Wohnung genau richtig, wer Ruhe sucht sollte eine andere Wohnung wählen. Die Vermieterin Aldina ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit, spricht allerdings kein deutsch oder englisch nur etwas französisch, aber mit Händen und Füßen sowie Google-Translator bekommt man das schon hin.

Très bel appartement bien situé. Très bon accueil.
Nous avons été très bien accueilli en arrivant à Funchal. L'appartement est spacieux, lumineux et très propre. Bien situé sur les hauteurs du centre de Funchal. Il faut prendre la voiture ou le bus pour revenir car ça grimpe! Bonne expérience :)
