This tuck under below our home in the Silver Lake hills, has it's own rear property entrance. Ideal for 2, cozy for 3. 400 interior sq. ft. A private yard of citrus trees and tropical birds of paradise, as well as native succulents, you'll feel you've gotten away from it all, while still being minutes from Downtown, Hollywood and all that hip Silver Lake has to offer, including the newly opened Whole Foods 365 a quarter mile away. Spend the morning on the spacious hardwood deck with coffee or tea gazing out onto the San Gabriel Mountains, or an evening grilling and sitting by the chiminea in front of a toasty fire. This get away is Modern and uncluttered, with a touch of the tropics. You'll enjoy this bright and breezy studio with a super comfy queen size bed and equally comfortable and firm fold out couch bed for a third or those little ones. The chalk board wall is always there if you're feeling the artistic muse, with a big pallet and a bucket of colors. There is WIFI, YouTube TV, Netflix etc., 42" flatscreen, DVD player, heat/AC, fully equipped kitchen with stove/oven, spacious fridge, microwave, french press, Brita Filter water and all the service items for cooking and serving. We provide all travelers with Bagels, cream cheese, coffee and half and half, just to get you started (and there is often ripe oranges waiting for you on the trees). There is a charcoal grill with a innovative starter system (none of the "starter fluid" flavor), and charcoal and cooking utensils provided. Along with all the obvious bath amenities, a blow dryer, shampoo/conditioner and iron/ironing board are provided. Along with the fresh towels and linens we also provide beach towels in case you get inspired to buzz off to Malibu....these items are all found in your walk-in closet with shelving, hanging bar and raised counter area for easy organization of your luggage and accessories, keeping them from cluttering your living space. In addition there are two large drawers below the bed for storage and cube storage in the hallway. There is a washer and dryer for your personal use in the shed directly outside the kitchen door. We have our own washer dryer upstairs, so the downstairs one is yours except every other Thursday, when our upstairs cleaners use both the up and downstairs washer/dryer for a few hours from 12:30-3:30. Plenty of street parking at the end of our property's rear driveway entrance. We have a friendly dog, Lily. She is separated from your yard by a gate to our upper yard. We are very close to the 5, 2 and 101 so it's very central and quick to get anywhere you want to go (depending on traffic of course). It should be noted that as the 5 freeway is down the hill, there is a level of consistent traffic white noise...or as we think of it, the babbling brook of "the LA River"... when you are on the deck or in your yard. But inside of the unit, it is quite muted. We have had little mention of it in our reviews, so we believe it generally is not a bother for most people.
