First of all don’t go there. I saw the pictures online and I thought it looked really good and it was very cheap. Now I know why. The outside of the building and the lobby are really beautiful but the hotel rooms are disgusting. We had lots off dirty stains on the sheets and the bed and the bathroom was even worse. The minute we told our taxi driver that we were staying at the Adelphi he laughed at us and so did everyone else in Liverpool. They all said that the hotel was great 50 years ago, many celebrities stayed there but with the current owners everything went downhill according to them. “ it’s just an ordinary way of making money off tourists”. My advice, Pay a little bit extra on a different hotel and enjoy Liverpool because it’s a beautiful city full of friendly people.

vergane glorie; alles stuk, oud en vervallen
Keycard deur werkt 2 keer per dag niet. Dan moet je terug in de rij bij de receptie. Bad/douche lekt, dus vloer badkamer zeiknat. Kamer is niet schoongemaakt tijdens hele verblijf, dus geen nieuwe handdoeken, wc papier enz. Wifi is niet gratis, alleen in de lobby, maar op kamer betalend. ‘s avond en ‘s nacht hoor je de lift heel duidelijk, dat klinkt als een soort achtbaan attractie.

Classic hotel with grand lounge. High ceilinged spacious rooms with good shower and plenty of hot water. Bar and breakfast on site. Close to noisy night life. Narrow beds with uncomfortable mattresses. Staff pleasant and helpful and quickly responded to requests for more linens.

We arrived and parking was important to us and satisfactory. Reception was quiet and they persuaded us to take a special offer of dinner, some free drinks and breakfast, only available at time of check in. We arranged to meet a friend in the American bar where we watched three security guards trying to persuade a local addict to put on his shoes and leave, he was finally manhandled away. As told we went to the Restaurant at 6pm to find it closed and went back at 7 when a waitress told us it was closed that evening. Annoyed we complained and a Manager informed us we could get a snack in an extremely crowded and ultra noisy bar. This was not what we had planned for our guest, we did however get some shoddy fish &chips. The room was acceptable. Generally a very poor experience particularly at the price we paid.

The toilets were disgusting and smelly. This hotel needs an overhaul. Fantastic building. Even the communal areas aren’t bad but the rooms are terrible. Mattresses uncomfortable windows need replacing.

Its tired, needs a lot of work to freshen up. Bed was comfortable, room was clean but had a weird stale smell. Would only stay here again as a last resort.

Impressive in terms of space, layout and range of facilities. And staff are very helpful. But age has made it shabby - a bit scruffy and dirty. Prices are correspondingly reasonable. Set your expectations and enjoy your stay.

This is a Large older hotel with fittings etc in line with its age the Hotel is well located for both main train stations and shopping despite a number of previous reviews that scored the hotel very low I enjoyed my stay my room was clean comfortable and provided you with everything you needed from nice clean towels and complimentary toiletries and a Flat screen TV. Thanks.

I arrived at night (1am) and found a group of people outside the hotel smoking weed. I pressed the night bell and the door was opened by other waiting guests. During check in the clerk said my hotel room number unnecessarily loud while other people were present. This made me feel quite unsafe. There was no safety lock on the door which is really worrying. As I entered the hotel room it smelled of dust and ‘old’. The room seemed clean overall. The bathroom sink was very cracked. During the night there was eery banging. Positives: There is a kettle and tea provided in the room. There’s complementary bathroom soap, shampoo, shower gel and lotion. Check out is very quick and easy.

The smell from the public toilets on the ground floor was awful most days on the last day there was excrement on the bathroom floor. I also had blood on my bathroom floor and I felt unsafe walking on the 4th floor. Doors slamming and screaming at 2 am not pleasant . Although I paid for Wi-Fi I could get no signal in my room on the 4th floor. There was some dodgy characters around in the foyer and my friend got a fright when someone grabbed her from behind . It was her first time in the Uk . On a positive note the towels were white and fluffy and the bedding clean although the mattress was uncomfortable but they are refurbishing so perhaps it will improve . The staff must be indicated with complaints that must be horrible for them . I felt they are probably doing their best . The room only gets cleaned in between guests . I sadly won’t go again .

Such a grand hotel stayed for one week never saw much of it Hotel Cortez vibes from American horror movie has a certain vibe which I liked but didn’t get to use much facilities.

Great location. A hotel with so much character. Dated but not in a bad way. You almost go back in time whem going in the door. Only thing which i didn't like is the room was very small as a twin room. Should of been suitable as a single person. Other than that an all round nice place To stay. A wonderful communal area to spend time too
