Stunning view of the resort and the ocean from the balcony! It's a great location to get to everything on the island without being in a crowded area. Excellent spot to stay!

Was happy with the room we stayed in again from last year. We didn’t know the hotel was going to be in remodel , one hot tub shut down ,lobby shut down and restaurant pretty much shut down. But overall was another great experience and can’t wait to go back and see all the new changes. BTW Best bloody Mary’s and crab cake eggs Benedict for breakfast AND Spam nachos at the pool bar!!!

Terrific stay in a nice sized, very clean, and accessible unit with pool and ocean views. Great access to all East Coast and North Coast adventures. Nice beach at the Resort but we didn't swim it (we went just up the road to the protected pools at Lyngate). Resort Restaurant was expensive, as anticipated, but quite good (we did breakfasts only). Aloha and Mahalo to Frank and Sharon! The Lounge (Shutters) looked inviting but was closed during our stay. Played golf next door...very convenient! The Outrigger Staff were excellent to us.Challenges? Strictly 1st world issues. Parking was not very convenient and I did a lot of walking while carrying chairs, snorkel gear, bags, etc. (likely due as much to my poor planning as anything. Doormen were great but I didn't utilize them much- 1st trip, you know). Laundry was a chore (walking 3 stories) and there was no housekeeping service during our five days (our other condo had two services). And, watch that highway when getting in/out of the Resort. Cars are FLYING by!But, overall? This was an excellent location and a terrific introduction to the lush East/North Coasts of Kaua'i. Thank You, Outrigger Team, and our unit Owner. This was special.....

We enjoyed our holiday to Hawaii, however the resort is out dated, not maintained, saw many leaks when it was raining, many signs saying things are not to be used, ie door, clothes dryer, one of the two spas not working, tiles missing from around spa, staff polite but as soon as u ask a question not as polite. The outside pool area looks nice. Enjoyed watching the dance the resort showed on a certain day of the week.

The host was communicative and helped us get checked in to our room a little early. The room was just as described with a beautiful sunrise ocean and pool view! AC worked great, with a dehumidifier running to keep things comfortable. The resort was great as well. Wonderful pool, surprisingly good food, friendly staff, clean amenities. I would stay again though my only knock is that there is nowhere within walking distance of the resort.

lack luster property

Property feels like it trying to survive. Short handed on staff, limited food options. MUST have a car because nothing is close by. the beach is littered with plastic and drift wood, but even if it was not, it's not a swimmable beach. Host was quick to reply, gave us early check in.

It was quiet and relaxing.

The resorts was nice but in big need of repair and updating. The room was nice but the ac did not work properly. This was the resorts fault and not VRBO. There were very few beach chairs around the pools so you had to grab one by about 7 am. The food was mediocre and the restaurant staff was rude and very slow.

Tropical getaway

Wonderful little resort, clean and wonderful pools and beach access. Loved the chairs and boogie boards. Friendly hosts and everything was extremely easy. Had trouble with a pesky loud neighbor but otherwise our stay was terrific.

Kauai get away

The hotel was okay, it is showing its age. The mattress needs replacing. Pools were very nice. Beach is hard to walk on. The restaurants were expensive for the quality of the food. You need a car to get around. Kapa’a is close for groceries, restaurants and local shopping. Close to south shores and exploring. North shore did not offer much. Windy and rainy on and off. ( might be the time of year) Need better instruction how to find places. Staff very friendly and grounds well maintained.

This was our first visit to Kauai, so we went in kind of blind on the best area to stay. The Outrigger turned out to be a perfect location for us, and this unit was clean and comfortable, with a nice view. We would stay here again!

Great Views, Great Weather

Everything was as advertised. We had great weather and liked the central location for exploring the island both north and south. We were able to see humpback whales from the Lanai several days that we were there and it was nice to have a long sandy beach to walk. Sunrises were amazing.There are several dining options and multiple happy hours we partook in.The unit had two chairs and two boogie boards in the closet which were really nice to have and not have to buyWe'd definitely stay here again!!

Excellent vacation spot!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. Perfect location within the resort and our host was friendly and responsive with clear communication. The property was also very handy for touring around the island. A rental car is a must though. Definitely would stay here again!

All staff from front desk to restaurant to on-site spa services were personalable, friendly, efficient and helpful. I would recommend Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort to anyone wanting to indulge in relaxation and immerse in the tropical paradise of Kauai. Beautiful ocean views with gorgeous sunsets. I'll return again.

Lihue Condo

Overall, this was a great place to stay on Kauai near Lihue. Pros:- wonderful resort amenities; several hot tubs, several pools, plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas for lounging, starbucks on site, beach access (though not swimmable, at least when we went in January)- resort staff was helpful and friendly- comfortable bed- enough beach towels and bath towels included- host was wonderful and let us have late check outCons:- Everything in the room was a bit outdated and somewhat shabby; would opt to stay in a room through the resort next time as I suspect they are more modern- 40 per day for parking (though this is pretty standard on Kauai, to pay for parking)- short drive to kapaa or lihue for foodd&drinks&entertainment; would prefer to stay in Kapaa next time so that we could walk to places rather than having to drive each timeOverall it was affordable, so pretty good value for the price

Very nice family vibe

We loved the on-property Starbucks in the gift shop. The three restaurants were great options for staying on property. You can tell in its heyday this was a 5 star destination. It’s still a great property, but in need of updating. Excellent location on the island, only 10 minutes from airport and easy access to the rest of the island. Immaculate grounds. Excellent pools, but strong ocean currents make it a less desirable beach to swim at-use caution.

perfect relaxing getaway

The room was exactly right for us. comfortable, quiet, great view of the ocean and pools, live music in the evening, good restaurants, nice pools with loungers, short drive to Kapa'a where there are lots of other restaurants and beaches and groceries. quick, easy drive from the airport and the hosts were super accommodating.

The resort was as described. I would suggest that in the bar the music was a little less loud so that you can have a conversation with people. The resort staff were all lovely.and food was good but a little pricey for what you got. Overall a good experience

So so

Althought the property manager was communicative, the room was clean and the resort was beautiful... I’m still giving this a 5/10 experience. The food at the resort is terrible, the room doors are SHUTTERS and every noise in the halls can be heard while in your room, the water in the shower never gets warmer than warm… overpriced for what it is in reality. If we weren’t in paradise, I’d be livid
