'Unless you’re very desperate for a room i would keep driving. Absolutely filthy room. I used towels on the floor to walk from the bathroom to the bed and I used hand towels on the vanity to cover the surface. The smell in the hallway was of old cigarettes. I paid for two nights but only stayed one night. I forfeited the money as it wasn’t worth it to stay and be so uncomfortable.'

'We stayed in different rooms on April 29 and on May 1, 2026. The rooms seemed recently renovated. This is a no-frills accommodation: there are a little refrigerator and cups, but no coffee-maker. The concierge on each night was welcoming and competent. My only complaint is that on the second night, our supposedly non-smoking room smelled strongly of stale tobacco smoke. 'The building is an early Portland mansion that’s been maintained well and upgraded to some extent, keeping the charm of the era in which it was built but meeting the standards of today. Our king room with an en suite was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was a do-it-yourself affair with many simple choices, including fruit, yogurt, fresh pastries, and cereals.
