'Doune Braes is very close to the Callanish standing stones, which makes it a super convenient location if the stones are on your itinerary! Everyone working at Doune Braes was extremely kind and helpful and the food (I had dinner and breakfast) was delicious. It is not a fancy accommodation, but the rooms are clean, spacious, and safe. Highly recommended if you are visiting Lewis and want to see the Callanish stones, particularly at sunrise or sunset!'

'Four of us stayed in a beautiful two bedroom, two bathroom apartment. The views were stunning. The apartment was spotless and very well equipped. Our host Christina could not have been more welcoming or helpful. After days exploring Lewis in all sorts of weather it was wonderful to come home to a comfortable and luxurious apartment and a hot shower.'

'We were welcomed at the door and shown to our well-appointed apartment. Spectacular views from the Castle across Stornoway harbour, and a very comfortable stay. Management are friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Recommend the Castle cafe downstairs for breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.'

'We stayed here for two nights with friends and loved the spacious, elegant rooms, great view, and convenient location. It was a lot of fun to explore the castle and the grounds are beautiful. Breakfast and lunch are available in the cafe downstairs; unfortunately other typical hotel amenities such as an on-site restaurant, bar or gym are not available, nor was there daily housekeeping. But for our short stay we didn't miss any of those things, as we were busy sightseeing, and it's a short walk...
