'Loved this place. The setting is beautiful as was our room. A real mixture of old and new that worked perfectly. The staff were really friendly and attentive and we truly felt welcome. We opted for the pie for dinner and I can honestly say, it was the best pie I have ever eaten. The pastry was amazing and it was filled to the max with the ham and leek. My only criticism is that I didn’t really rate the mattress, the bed was too hard for me. Additionally, a blind on the Velux window would be...

'Historic property so room is reflective of that. Clean, quiet & great location with good parking. Onsite bar & restaurant convenient with good quality meals. Breakfast was also very good with a good selection. '

'Lovely room with large bed and a high single bed. Single bed was on a slope so not great. Biggest downside was the very loud music from downstairs which went on until after 11. Other than that nice pub, would stay again.'

'We had a lovely one night stay and really enjoyed it. Rooms are clean and modern, staff are very friendly and helpful and breakfast was was delicious. We were staying to go to a show at the Opera House which is less than 15 minutes walk away. All in all a great stay. We will definitely stay again.'

'The food was quite good, and like the room price, good value for money. Friendly staff. As in many UK hotels, a shower in a bath is also here, slippery and life-threatening.'
