'The front desk was great. When I arrived to check in I was immediately welcomed and taken care of as soon as I walked thru the doors. I even came thru the front desk office after a late tour and the person that checked me in greeted me - I felt like I was at home. Every person that was working in the property was so friendly and acknowledged you throughout the day. I don’t think I would stay anywhere else in Maui. I felt so safe here.'

'This is the perfect place/location for those seeking a nice condo in Kaanapali. The complex is right next to the Whaler’s village and has good beach front with cabana, lounge and umbrella rentals available. The units are spacious with good kitchens. We’ve been to Maui many times and feel that this is the best option.'

'Went for our honeymoon and the Whaler didn’t disappoint. The room was clean and set up pretty well. The communication and follow up was the best I’ve experienced, we wanted to experience a bunch of local spots and the staff was extremely nice and helpful. The location is perfect. Very centralized to snorkeling, pool, or the ocean. A bunch of good food in walking distance and even some others for a short drive. Was able to whale watch from the room and a short walk to black rock we seen dolphins....

'The studio room is very small. We had a better view than anticipated. We actually had a partial ocean view. The laundry was two floors above us and the washing machine was broken, so we had to go up 5 more floors for another. The shower head spray was not good - needed cleaning. Because our room was a closed off guestroom, we could hear the neighbors in the main room through the mutual door. The facilities were very nice and the resort was situated in walking distance to shopping and eating....

'Best kept secret for Kaanapali beach resorts! Everything accessible with no elevators, crowds, or chaos. Free wi-fi, parking and best stretch of beach ever. Pool never crowded, plenty of chairs and unlimited towels at front desk. Free coffee 7am-11am. Stayed in Coconut Building and room had double queen beds and full stainless kitchen. 'We were in Waikiki, Hawaii during the 100-year storm. Everywhere was flooding, therefore, we decided not to go to Maui and get stuck on the island. The staff would not refund any part of our hotel fees at all or allow us to rebook at another time. We will never stay there! We could not believe this…very disappointing!'

'Pros: The unit! Cable TV like CNBC & Bloomberg, ice machine, pool noodles/snorkel gear, cantenes for day trips, high end kitchen applances and supplies, good mattress. Cons: Undisclosed fees I was asked to pay upon checkin even when I messaged hotel/mgmt/owner? on Expedia platform weeks before to doublecheck and was told no additional $! It should clearly state "pay at property $xx amount" like my other expedia bookings. Expedia resolved it after escalation.'

'It is a beautiful property and our unit was spectacular. It had the best balcony view of the ocean and pool area. The amenities in the unit were extremely helpful (ice chest, beach chairs, boogie boards). Communication and check in/check out is very easy! We will be back.'

'Loved the condo, super clean and well maintained. The kitchen had everything we needed. The pools were amazing. Quick and easy access to the beach. Parking was super easy. We will definitely be booking there again.'

'Not a great check-in experience, room had pulled up carpet and broken lamp (upgraded bungalow room) and was not worth the price we paid. Restaurants and Luau on-site were overpriced and underwhelming. The only upside was the manager Gretchen that helped us to move to a different room (lower priced), but better view. We didn't get any money back, but Gretchen was very nice and helped us out.'
