'Al Kasr was a major disappointment. I have stayed at a number of 5 start hotels, as well as in Egypt (previously Sharm El Sheikh) so feel I have a good gauge of a good hotel. From the very start there were red flags. All hotels I have stayed in up until now have offered welcoming drinks (even just a basic juice would be fine) and provided a tour of the hotel facilities so we know where the pool and dining is. 'Nice, big room and bathroom with a view to the sea and everything within walking distance: the beach, the pool and the restaurants. The day activities and the night show were really good. Food has been of very good quality at the main restaurant, and a visit to the 2 a la carte restaurants is recommended. Relaxing on the beach sunbeds and then diving into the warm pool was a bliss. Overall, a great experience!'
